Apparently YG has a limit on the traffic for each group.

There's definitely a limit of traffic with each connection to Yahoo Groups. Which is why PG Offline and similar products need throttle controls to keep them from getting locked out.

I've never heard of a limit on traffic for a specific group (but that doesn't mean you're wrong!).

As there is no existing transfer status I presume my invite either has
gone astray or has not been made; ...

If there's no status at all, not even the box instructing you to send the invitation, then you haven't initiated the transfer, and your invitation will be discarded. See the screen shot under "Start the Transfer Process" here:

I suspect that the invite may have just evaporated into the ether...

An invitation I sent out from a Yahoo Group over the weekend took about 12 hours to arrive in my email inbox. So it may not have evaporated.

I had a similar issue.

A squatter registered the exact name of one of my Yahoo Groups on Groups.io in the apparent attempt to hijack the Group.
I contacted Support, but have yet to receive a reply. So, I successfully registered a varient of the original group name and announced it.
My new group now has many members. The hiujacker's has 2.

The hijacker does not have Moderator privileges on the original group, so can't transfer membership.

I hope his actions don't interfere with the transfer when they get so far.

I've gone ahead and add all our members to the new group.? Hopefully this won't interfere with the transfer.

If I saw the webpage saying my email address is registered, I'd try to use
the 'lost password' tool and see if it sends me the option to set a
password. If that happened and worked, then from his account on groups.io he
could find the group and register that way (I think).

Once you've started a transfer, there will always be some sort of status on the top line.? If there are no groups in the Existing Transfers drop down to select from, you haven't started one.

Yup. Message throughput in Y!GMF has been getting progressively slower since the announcement. My mental image before the slowdown set in was of a field full of beehives, all disturbed by a sudden jolt, and all buzzing furiously. They're still trying to, this one still is.

Phil -- It could be that a lot of group owners have paid the extra $200 for priority import.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Or you could download them and put them in Files.?

First be sure to write on your group homepage description that the group operates in Dutch language only. If you are listed in the public groups list, be sure to put it early on in the description on your home page. The software grabs it from there, but only part of it.

Member notices only works if a group is restricted AND it doesn't work for "direct add" or invitations. Only works if people send you a request to join, through the directory of groups or some other way.

I am coming from a Yahoo group and there I had set up that new members should write something about why they wanted to join.

It allows me to almost instantly filter out the good from the bad requests as the request should be on-topic and also the language should be Dutch as the list is Dutch.

Any options for this ?

TIA for your help. We have gone through the transfer and gotten to step 3. There are 609 ahead of us. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what kind of time frame that means? I know Groups is doing a fantastic job handling this huge influx and I am definitely not here to complain. I'm just looking for clarification - does 610 mean a week, a month? Longer? We are a non-profit and are trying to decide if we should pay the extra fee or not. Ty

I did block posts to Yahoo, but only after it was clear that the transfer had taken place, which was about 4 days later.? So I did not want to block the Yahoo site as I didn't know in advance it would take as long as it did.? So what I am looking for is some way for me to somehow transfer the unmoved 13 messages.?

Perhaps it is not possible.
