Granted, I've only been here for a day, so maybe I missed something (or a lot of things).

But with all this talk about folks' spot in the transfer queue changing, I'm wondering where you're accessing that info?

Looks like you have a space between the dot and io. Try copying and pasting the posting address from your group info on the home page.

Or just retype the address without the space.

Happened to us as well.? When we signed up at $110 and was informed the transfer would be in about 7 days.? We completed our end.? Went slowly from 56 down to 52 today.? This afternoon it is now up to 177 in line.? On my billing it says it will renew at $110/year.? Will see if that gets erased, but I kept a copy of the billing and screen capture.? At $220 a year we will just build our own forum software.

Don't know if it is true but on Yahoo it is said the current owners of groups.io were the previous owners of egroups which sold out to yahoo to form yahoogroups.? That was a good sale because egroups sold to yahoo for $432 Million.? I suspect if groups.io gets pumped up over 24 months from an unknown site to a yahoo replacement , they can sell for in the range of $125-150 Million.

A solution to identity issues is to purchase your own domain name and point it to what ever forum you wish.? since you own the domain name and if you use correct domain settings they only thing the visitors will see is the domain name.? That is what we did.?

I expect there will be competitors in this market popping up in the next 12 months.

Thanks. The green GO button only appeared a few hours after making Groups.io a moderator. It did appear, but was not there in earlier steps. Guess I got impatient!

Change your subscriptions using Advanced Preferences. I suggest first of a thread only.

I joined the GMF message forum today with a specific question and now my inbox is full of every question and response from GMF on other topics. How do I stop them from coming to my inbox? If I want to find a topic I can just go to the message forum and search.

It sounds to me like you skipped a step someplace.? There won't be anything in the box if you haven't started a transfer.

BTW, no one in this group can do any more than any other user of the site since we don't work for Groups.io.

Hi Duane,
Can I get help because it is not working.
I have an account [email protected], and is 1 year paid account and I followed the easy group instructions and the Detailed instructions /g/GroupManagersForum/message/19673
and I can not get step 11 to show it worked. I verified (by sending requests to other emails) that the yahoo group is sending the request but I do not get groups.io to acknowledge the request. Can you fix my account / group so it will work?

Yesterday when Mark added the sub-transfer statuses my group was at step 3, and 33rd in the queue. At some point this afternoon I checked and we were 32nd. I just checked again and it's showing we're number 142. Can 110 people really have paid the extra $200 to Expedite their transfer just in the last couple of hours? I'm gobsmacked.

Yes, that's the only way it can happen if you type the name directly into the address bar.? If it were an actual group, even if hidden on the directory, you'd be taken to that group.

Ok, so the group name they've used on Yahoo for years is usurped by the other guys.? I don't know what was behind the rift.? I am a member of both groups and tried to get them to use this opportunity to merge, but no-go.? I didn't realize it had gone so far as one group trying to block the other.? That's bad form.?

It gets sent out on the 1st of the month and is posted in the messages.? That way it goes via email to those that read that way and is available as a reminder for everyone that reads online.? As each new month is issued, the old one can be automatically deleted from the group (so there aren't several versions there) if you set the #Guidelines hashtag to one month duration.? I believe that's the default.? I also have our hashtag set to Locked, further down the page on the hashtag definition so that no one can reply to it.? If the hashtag doesn't exist, it will be created the first time they get sent or you can create it ahead of time to adjust settings.
