Re: Moderators Unable to Approve Members and Messages
Thanks, Michael.
Sorry to be dense, but where are permissions set, if they are different from Roles? I have both moderators set to that Role. Other than that, I don't see any place to set specific permissions in their Membership. In the group's Privacy settings, I have the Member Directory set to "Moderators and Owners." For all other options on the Settings page, I also have "Moderators and Owners" specified, although I don't think those options have any relevance to approving/modifying members and messages. Ron |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi. What permissions have you set for them? If you are the owner, then I would suggest you go in and check what permissions you Have set. It may be that you have given them the wrong permissions, so that is why they can¡¯t see the
page. Hope this helps.
Thanks.

I have a new group with two moderators. Both of them are unable to approve members and messages. They do receive notification e-mails that a member or message must be approved. However, when they click on the e-mail's link for "View Pending Member" or "View
this message online," they are shown a page that says "You do not have permission to access that page." (They are logged in at the time.)

New changes to Group Plans
I've read the Premium group plan fee of $110 has been doubled to $220 a year. I also read that next year Groups.io is looking to move away from a flat rate fee to a "per-member" group fee. I have not found anything that explains what the "Per-member" fee is all about and how much that will be. As many know, Yahoo made significant changes to their group plans and many Yahoo groups are moving to Groups.io which is why the Premium Group plan doubled in price from $110 a year to $220 a year. ? All new basic (non-premium) groups are required to be premium groups if they have, or acquire, more than 500 members or more than 3 subgroups. (Basic groups in existence before October 22 at 9 AM remain unlimited for now; however, next year we will be looking at readjusting our pricing structure and moving away from a flat rate fee and towards a more equitable per-member cost. We will keep you posted about all of this as we work through the process.) Can anyone explain the following: What is the "Per-member" group plan all about and what are the fees? Will, there be "Grandfathering" applied to current members or will all members, new and current, be required to pay the Per-member fee? When will the "Per-member" group plan go into effect? Thanks in advance and I look forward to answers to the above questions. Regards, Mike W5RKL |

Re: Group transfer without members
#yahoo
I think I found the answer on an earlier thread:
So if you leave the members behind during a transfer, that message will no longer be associated with any "posterid" within groups.io, because such an account does not exist. For example, you won't be able to "find" other posts by that person by searching on "all posts by this member." But the text metadata?will remain in the message base, whether the associated member is migrated or not. Specifically, the from address is not munged or changed to "anonymous."Source: /g/GroupManagersForum/message/19979 So I think the answer is, yes it will show the original poster addresses / names but they won't be associated with the user on Groups.io and even if that same user gets added later, they still won't be associated. I don't think this will be a problem for us. Thanks, Su |
Issue sending invitations to "unnamed" addresses
I just invited a number of people to my new group using the "Upload
Addresses" feature on the group Invite page. Addresses with personal names were sent OK, but those that didn't have a name seem to have been dropped. For example John Doe <jdoe@...> <xyzzy@...> The invitation was sent to the first address, but not to the second. Looking at the Invite page again, it appears I should have left the angle brackets off the second address, and I'll do that. But I'm a little troubled that it dropped these addresses silently rather than putting something in the activity log. But thanks for the detailed error messages on the addresses that were invalid! -Jim |

Re: Not Confirmed member (NC) behind member name
You might try sending a message directly to the address. Sometimes
toggle quoted message
Show quoted text
message from Groups.io can end up in someone's spam folder or be ignored. I try resending the confirmation email a couple of times. I can't recall there is an error message in the Email Activity messages if this bounces. If there is a typo then sending a message directly will let you know. If it doesn't bounce then it may be that the person doesn't realize they have to confirm their address and are ignoring the messages. I've sometimes had to remind people several times, directly, to respond to one of the confirmation messages. Here is my routine dealing with this. - Resend the confirmation email a few times - At that point send an email directly to their address. - If this email bounces remove them from the list. - If it doesn't bounce leave them on the list and wait for their response. - Try again a few times and then remove them from the list and send them an invitation to join the list. They won't have to confirm their address with an invitation, since they will respond to the invitation in order to accept it and that will confirm that it was the correct address.
