Re: AOL members bouncing

Wow, 189? That's nuts. How many members are in your group, total?

Thanks, Duane. Unfortunately (or fortunately?;), there's no detail in the activity log - just "email to xyz is bouncing."?

J

Re: AOL members bouncing

J,

The way I understand Mark's explanation is that it will attempt to deliver emails until it gets 4 consecutive bounces, going from blue to red. I'm not sure if it's once per day, new digest, or individual messages. I've had a few folks on AOL go from normal to bouncing to normal several times in one day, so I'd guess it's based on whatever delivery they chose.

In the activity log, it should show the message received from AOL when it bounced. That should give a major clue as to the status of their account or AOL in general.

Duane,

Thanks. "Keep trying" to do what, exactly? Is groups.io sending out bounce probes?

I've been in email contact with the blue bouncer, and she hasn't responded to the bounce probe. I suppose that means it's bouncing?

J

Re: AOL members bouncing

Blue B means Groups.io will keep trying (4 tries, I think), red B means it's given up. In the first case, shouldn't be any need to send a probe. In the second, that may be the only way they know they're bouncing.

I haven't succeeded in convincing a few last holdouts to switch from using AOL, and they are bouncing again today. I've sent bounce probes to both of them, but my question is this: they now both have "B"s after their name in the "bouncing members" list, but one is a red B and the other is a blue B. What is the significance of the colors? The red one looks very ominous LOL.

Re: Ability to Moderate Photos

Ginny,

I'll post to beta but I also wanted to be sure that it wasn't something that had been discussed before.?

It has been discussed before on beta@, quite a long time ago. I advocated for comprehensive moderation capabilities for all features, not just messages.

I'll post to beta but I also wanted to be sure that it wasn't something that had been discussed before. And yes, I know about the whole "on/off" switch, but that isn't what I'm looking/hoping for. Yahoo allowed you to moderate photos the same as messages (one of the few positive things). Thanks, everyone.

Re: Ability to Moderate Photos

Under settings there is a place where you say whether you want everyone to be able to post photos or just moderators.

This has been mentioned on beta@ several times, most recently about a week or so ago. I don't see anything about it on the Trello page though (). I'm certainly in favor of it, along with moderation of files, databases, etc.

Ability to Moderate Photos

Hi all, and forgive me if this has been brought up before but I don't think so -

Would it be possible to add a function that allows moderation of photos? We've had issues in the group I'm moving from Yahoo and the solution there was to moderate photos. It would be a very helpful thing to have within Groups.io (and thanks for a wonderful site, Mark). I'm at a loss as to how to maintain this standard, other than having to review the activity, track each photo and address each one individually that is problematic. Being able to reject them first would be much more efficient. Please? and thank you?

Google Drive (or other site) integration

Could someone point me to information on how to use off-site file
storage and integrate it with groups.io, please? (Google Drive,
DropBox, One Drive, etc.)

Someone in the @beta group mentioned they were using it and I wasn't
even aware that it existed.

Thanks!!!

Sugar, this would qualify for my latest group. So if you wish you can give them D information to apply and we will definitely start such a discussion over there. Because body and essential oils qualify under home remedies.?

As a totally blind mother and wife I find that groups io is great whereas when I use to be on Yahoo¡ no more needed to be said. Smile

My question is, I have several individuals who are interested in an essential oil and or aroma therapy list on groups io.

Does anyone know if one already exist?

If so may I please have that ifno?

Much appreciated.

Re: "Liking" a message

As far as I know, all it does is add the note at the bottom of the post (online). No reporting or notification. Getting a notification was discussed on beta@ awhile back, but not sure if anything came out of it. I know I'd turn it off if it were implemented. It was also mentioned that having a button to show all Likes (of your posts) would be used by some, but again, no decision that I remember. I don't find either one mentioned on the Trello page, but may have overlooked it:

"Liking" a message

Hi

Dies anyone know what actually happens if someone "likes" your post? ?It doesn't seem to mark the message. In a test, someone liked my message but no notification.?

Is this a work in progress?
