Re: Please advise if anyone is having a problem 'rejecting messages for posting'.--ISSUE CLOSED BY ORIGINAL POSTER
Just an update¡ªI am the only moderator. Don¡¯t think I clicked wrong box, especially not twice.? If I? had not clicked the correct ¡®reject¡¯ box then I would not have gotten the message box that allows me to send the person whose message I¡¯m rejected a supplemental note.? As of right now, I¡¯m considering the issue closed as I took several ¡®screen shots¡¯ of ¡®rejected¡¯ messages over the past two days so I could send them to ¡®help line¡¯ IF problem repeated and it did not. Thanks for responses. Harlan Steinle SSV Forum

Problems with Comcast Account/Replies
I am the owner of a couple of groups (on subscription plan). For the past several days, when I send an email to the group, I am not getting a copy of it back to see that it was sent.
This morning, I changed to a gmail account and I do get the replies back, which tells me that it has to be my comcast.net account. Have you been having any problems with comcast? They recently changed their port settings and wondering if there is anything at your level that can be changed to make the replies come through..I will try to contact Comcast and ask the question. So appreciate any help that you can give me in being able to see the emails that I do send to the group. Thank you very much. Hugs Laine |

First, check to see if you are logged in. If your email address or name appears on the blue menu bar at upper right, you are logged in. If there is a Log In button instead, you are not.Assuming you are logged in, go to any group page and look at the Home button at upper left. Does it display a blue Owner badge? If not, then you are logged in under an email address that does not own this group. Log out and log back in using the correct address. Once you are logged in with an account that owns the group you can find your settings under Admin>Settings. Re: Message marked "Objectionable" hides full thread?
In the hope that what has been discovered as a result of this thread might be of longer - term value I have put together a wiki page for Complaints About Messages. I am not entirely certain that where I have located it in the Index is optimal; it is currently under Advice to Group Members > Topics and Messages but clearly there are other places where it might be better placed.
In broad terms it is more or less finished (I think!) although there are one or two additional snippets that I might add in the next few days. It is, of course, open to editing by other members of this Group if it is felt that changes / improvements are necessary. Chris |

Message formatting options not shown
Hi,
when I create or reply to a topic on my main group I no longer see the message formatting options.? On a reply, all I see is the 'quote whole post' option. All my subgroups plus GMF and beta work fine, it's just the main group that has a problem.? I've logged out and back in again, closed and reopened the browser etc. but it's still the same. Any thoughts? Andy |

Re: Do Users Receive Feedback if a Post Is Rejected under Moderation?
Gerald Boutin
Replying to my own topic, I found out that my post actually did eventually come through. My fault for being too hasty and not heeding my own advice.
While that was happening, I did some testing on my own and confirmed that when a post is rejected on a Moderated topic, there is a reason message provided. Regarding the second part, I will continue to monitor to determine the circumstances under which this happens and report back on a new topic if I find something. The second part being clicking?on a link to a post and watching Chrome "waiting ....". I gave up and switched to another tab and got the no longer logged in message. -- Gerald |

Re: Google Drive Alternatives

Some of our group members get a rash when you say "Google" and really don't want to use Google Drive. Not as a formal integration. However, if you can create a public link to a drive that you want to share, you can put that link anywhere you want to in the group, including the home page html, message content, or your wiki (including the "sticky wiki"). This would effectively make drive content available to all subscribers, and is more or less how Google Groups manages file sharing. Navigation to and from the file repository would thus be somewhat clunky, but it should work. The existing Google Drive integration is probably not what you are expecting. All it does is send any attachments that come through your group to the designated drive. It is a member integration, so you can't set one up for the entire group...but conceivably you could set one up for yourself (as owner) and share that drive back using any of the methods in the paragraph above. I don't know of anyone who has played with this extensively so if you do so and come up with any tricks or tips please report back. Hope this helps, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Re: HELP PLEASE [how do you clean out the photos and messages]

how do you clean out the photos and messages? There is currently no way to bulk-delete photos and messages. The easiest ways are as follows: For photos, see:?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Deleting%20attachments,%20files%20and%20photos. The bottom section deals with deleting entire albums. Note that you cannot delete the Emailed Photos album.? For messages, you will have to delete them topic by topic. See?/g/GroupManagersForum/topic/27852943#13130?for instructions on the fastest way to do this. Be careful, there is no way to undo what you've done. I believe once you've deleted all the messages, the photos in the Emailed Photos folder will be gone, too. Let us know if they aren't. Google Drive Alternatives
Mike Avery
Thanks to the group for answering my newbie questions.? Of course, I have another one.
Some of our group members get a rash when you say "Google" and really don't want to use Google Drive. Are there integrations for storage platforms other than Google Drive? Thanks, Mike |
