Wouldn't that email just show the path from Groups.io to her? I think you need to look at the email as shown on the web page for Groups.io via More -> View Source. This would show the path the email took to reach Grousp.io. Apparently so... I guess I should have run an actual Gio message vs going with what I did when my groups were on Yahoo... but whoda thought Groups.io would strip all the "Received:" headers before sending a message on. Disappointing to say the least. :-( Jim H [excess quote trimmed by moderator] |

There will be a series of Received-by: things in the header. See appended text for example. You will need to provide this text for the message that was actually held up, not the one retained on the originating server. By parsing through this mess, it's possible to determine where the message was held up. With servers sometimes in different time zones, it's not necessarily a trivial exercise; but my guess is that it was probably not groups.io. Hope this helps, Bruce ?

What about for calendars, polls, and such? There is no "account", per se, other than the person's email address. With the likely exception of group owners, I suspect most subscribers in groups.io took no action to "create an account" to get started. It was automatically created when their email address was direct-added to a group, transferred into a group from Yahoo, etc. That said, groups.io cannot determine whether someone attempting to do something is actually authorized to do so unless they somehow confirm that they own the corresponding email address. This is possible by using the "email me a link to login" function at /login. Whether a subscriber subsequently sets up a password so as to bypass this mild annoyance is entirely their choice...but they are no more or less of a member of groups.io for having done so. As for what can be done without logging in -- it is possible for a group owner to make the calendar, wiki and/or message archive *visible*?to "the world outside" via group settings. But that's about all.?To post a message online, edit a calendar or wiki entry, respond to a poll, change your preferences, update your profile, participate in chats, access files, photos and databases, etc...all of these functions require that the subscriber be logged in. ? I can see the source code but I won't be able to tell where the hold up was as I cannot decipher what the code means. Ilene Once you have a copy of the delayed email as sent to you by Groups.io, follow the link below and follow directions found there. It will tell you how to reveal the needed headers and it contains a link to a tool that will analyze them for you. Jim H |

Re: Mail not being delivered
Do you have the full header on that message that did eventually arrive? You're looking for a gap in the times. Or you can post it here as you did the other one - someone here can translate it for you. As soon as I saw the mchsi client, my finger wanted to point in that direction, though from the header above it looks like the mediacom server handed it off to gmail quite promptly. So you would need to see the one that came BACK to see where it got interrupted.
I know it's very frustrating not to be able to count on delivery times. Good luck. Barb |

That's the message as gmail received it from you,
not as you received the message back from the group.

The only restriction is that everyone must be a member of the main group.? The subgroups are basically independent, so you can set up each to limit who has access.
