?I have been "kicking the tires" on groups io and have some questions: what is the current version number, how many users, how large is the support staff, is a mobile app forthcoming, Are? references available, what was the release date of the first non beta version.
My organization is currently using big tent for a communication system.? Unfortunately big tent is going out of business on December 31.
Thanks for your help. |

Re: Privacy questions
When you create a group, you set whether the messages (archive) are publicly viewable or private (not publicly viewable):
If you set private, you get the following warning - "Are you sure you wish to make this group's archives private? Private archives cannot be reverted later." (If you set public, you might be able to change to private later, not sure about that.) On the group's homepage you will see one of 2 options: (archives refers to the messages)
Thanks Toby |

Re: Privacy questions
I think I figured it out :) for us it was selection number three.

Privacy questions
Hello - I have created a new medical group and I¡¯m trying to establish privacy for the archive section?
Someone be able to direct me exactly where I can push the button that will make the archives not visible to anybody else but subscribers. I¡¯ve looked and looked until I¡¯m cross eyed. Lol. Thanks:) Marna Gatlin Founder and CEO Parents via egg donation www.pved.org 503 987 1433 -office 503 369 9363 -cellular |

Re: Still trying to adapt to the new group settings.
Excellent, Shal. Hopefully I have corrected that. Does that mean that the 'invite.ics' won't appear either? Barbara On Tue, 11 Sep 2018 at 14:18, Shal Farley <shals2nd@...> wrote:

Re: Still trying to adapt to the new group settings.
Barbara,
When creating the event, uncheck Send Invite To Group. Also, if you didn't, check Send Notice To Group When Event Happens rather than adding any reminders. That way it is posted at the date/time you chose for the event rather than in advance. -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Re: Still trying to adapt to the new group settings.
Thank you again. I did this and set up the calendar for 1st of each month and every Sunday - different messages - but now both messages came straight after to the group so everyone will be really confused. I presume this is just to tell members about the forthcoming arrangements. I can explain that. For future reference, is there anything I should do to prevent this happening with future messages? Also can I get rid of that 'link' at the bottom of the message : A question mark on a piece of paper with a note - invite.ics? It is unnecessary that anyone would need to add this 'event' to a calendar.? Re: Disable Archives
Thanks to all for the responses, and also for giving the request a nudge on Beta.? I have passed the info along to the person requesting help, along with a workaround that I have suggested she experiment with.? Also suggested she join this list to get a better idea of the features and problem areas.

Re: How do I send a password reminder message to a member
There is no option to send anything about the password to a member.? Once she uses the emailed login, she can click on her name at the upper right corner, then click Account.? On the page that opens, she should enter the password that she wants to use in the Password box, then click on Change Password beneath it.? After that, that password will work.

How do I send a password reminder message to a member
One member is unable to log in using what she believes is the password. So she uses the email message to log in feature in order to log in every, but convinced that the password for the account is the one she tries (but fails) does not reset the password. |

Re: Disable the Join button on the tom page
You can't disable it but you can set up a message to them to automatically tell them whatever you wish.
We vector them to our website's "Join Form" that must be completed & T& C agreed to after which we will direct add them. Piece of cake. -- Bob Bellizzi Founder, Fuchs Friends?? |

Disable the Join button on the tom page
We have a restricted group and everyone is added via a Direct Add. ?Even though the Home page tells people this and in big red letters says don't use the join button...guess what, they still do!
Is there a way to "disable" the join button so it does not even appear on the Home page? Peace, Tom |

? A yahoo list owner has contacted me regarding moving her list to groups.io. The one question she had that I could not answer was whether it was possible to completely disable archiving. Obviously, if this is possible, all members would have to communicate by email since there would be no messages maintained on the site, but apparently that had been possible at one time on yahoo. I'm unable to find this as a feature on my own groups. Does anyone here know of a way to make this happen.Cacky ? |
