If they don't clear cookies on that device, they'll have access for 30 days.? This can be repeated as often as you like. Re: Direct Add with "Special Notice" email option
When members are Direct Added, they will get a notification to that effect.? I believe they also get one if they are transferred,? If you want, you can also set up a Welcome Notice that would go to all of them.

Re: Are Transferred Members actually utilizing new Groups.io
A transfer does not create an account on the site. It subscribes them to the group only.? They need to create an account on the site and use the subscribed email address to access the web permissions for the group.
From what I see, only the activity log would show a web action, but not log in and out status. |

Not at this time. It is an often-requested feature. I find 1024px in the long dimension to be more than adequate for viewing online. Your mileage may vary, depending on whether your group is graphics-heavy, and whether some members are fond of lossless formats (TIF, BMP, etc). I suggest also setting up your group to delete old email attachments if you run out of space. See Admin->Settings->Message Formatting->Out of Space. ? Subject: [GMF] Are Transferred Members actually utilizing new
Groups.io ?
I recently transferred a Yahoo group. I'm still working through navigating
the new Groups.io group.
Generally, the transfer was fast and went well.
But I have a question.
Is there a way to tell which transferred members are actually signing in or
activating their Groups.io membership.
How can the owner tell if the members have actually moved to
Groups.io

Re: Moderated Topic Still Posted Without Approval
set a topic to moderated. I now have several replies that have been posted. I don't understand why they have been posted after setting the topic to Moderated. I approved one message. On the website for your group under messages a topic that has been moderated has a small symbol at the beginning of that topic. Any change in the topic heading, even leaving out an ! Makes it a new topic. Hope this helps Ullmang On Fri, Aug 3, 2018, 12:14 PM Paul Ohio USA via Groups.Io <pwberndt=[email protected]> wrote: Hi All, |
Direct Add with "Special Notice" email option
I'm about to do a direct add of several hundred?members to a new group transferring from Yahoo. ?Several of them have "Special notice" selected as their email option. ?In the direct add instructions (at the bottom of the direct add page) Special notice is not noted as an option to append to the entry. ?Is that an option, and if so what is the format?
Would it be "John Doe <JohnDoe@...> special"? ?And I assume that if that is in a CSV file the entire line is in the?same cell in column 1? Thanks for your help. Peace, Tom |
Moderated Topic Still Posted Without Approval
Hi All,
I set a topic to moderated. I now have several replies that have been posted. I don't understand why they have been posted after setting the topic to Moderated. I approved one message. It may be that I don't understand and by approving the one message, I somehow removed the Moderation. If anyone has used this and can explain, please do so. Paul, Ohio, USA |
Re: Yahoo Transfer Members Question
Group Moderator
RE:? ? I suggest you allow the transfer agent to move them and simply delete them afterward. In GIO, the member list can be sorted by the message delivery? ? ? ?option and a bulk deletion is very straightforward...just click the checkbox next to each one and select "Remove" from the Action menu. Only issue is all those email addresses will get all the "welcome to the group" etc emails, which may be confusing and/or irritating, depending on why they left the original YG group. Which may or may not be a problem, just something to consider. Btw, does a member get an email upon being deleted? Or is that something optional to set up? |

#howlong
?I've seen the topic touched on Group Managers before, and the advice was to go to Support. That sounds ineffective. I'll look for group managers to ask directly.
