Re: Preparing my first forum for subgroups in the future

Correct, the "main" group (which created the original group) will always remain as is, aka the "master" group, or parent of all subgroups if any of those are created.? Yes, main group can be the "list" of all members, and each member can then choose what subgroup to belong to. You'd need to decide though how to setup the main group in terms of the default subscription, whether it'd be an announcement group only or allow discussion, etc, etc. If you're not familiar with it, I'd refer more to the groups.io manuals instead of ChatGPT. Preparing my first forum for subgroups in the future
I've come to Groups.io forum to create a forum for the AV Team at my church. ?It's become clear that a successful AV forum will spur interest in forums for other church teams, each with its own subgroup.
?
I'm now faced with this question: ?When I create the first subgroup, does the original group automatically become its own subgroup?
?
With some help from ChatGPT, it appears that my first group will remain as-is and become the parent of all subgroups. ?So I'm planning to a church-wide parent group and create its first subgroup for the AV Team.

Is that starting on the right foot? |

To my understanding, the Daily Summary behaves similarly to a Digest, except you get the topics list instead of a string of messages, and it only arrives once a day. ?
As such:
- Any new topics (started up since your last summary) will be listed in today's Summary.
- Existing topics that you haven't followed will not be listed.
- Topics you're following will be listed, but only if they have further activity.

I must acknowledge that I have not tested this. Perhaps someone will do so overnight.
No. If you select Daily Summary, you will receive no individual emails.?

Confirming understanding of the following only settings
I would to confirm my understanding of subscription combinations.
If a member selects daily summary and then uses advanced subscription for its additional ability.
?
1. subscription set to daily summary
?
2. Advanced subscription set to ?following only and new topic?
?
?
Does that mean that the member still receives the normal full daily summary with all topics listed each morning.
In addition to the summary, ?member will get all replies to topics they choose for following and the first post for any new topic ?as they happen via individual email?
?
Thank you

Is this the lighter black you're?looking for?? When you reply to someone look for the down arrow beside the letter A.? It's the next box beside true black. Cecelia Mercer On Thu, May 1, 2025 at 3:39?PM Bruce Bowman via <bowman46118=[email protected]> wrote:

If a group allows it, you can select a font color in the editor by clicking open the secondary toolbar. See screenshot below for "dark gray."
?
For further fine-tuning, click the tiny palette icon at lower right to enter specific RGB values.
Highlight the text you wish to change with your mouse, then change the color using the sequence above.
Group Manager's Forum does not allow anyone to change font colors. Thus, your attempt to send an example did not work.

Default Font Color
How do I find the default font color of "light black" in the tool bar?
?
I've noticed this default color is more pleasing to me at least, but if I copy and paste something into my post that is a "darker black," I don't know how to make it the lighter black color. Example below (you'll see my signature is in the default lighter black and the script I pasted is in the darker black):
?
-Milestones Autism Planning Tool
-Standardized measures like Vineland
?
A link to the recording of the webinar will be available??after editing (approximately 2-3 weeks). ? --

Member is having issues with accessing posts via the daily summary links
Hi!
?
I have a member that is unable to access posts via the links from the daily summary.
They are redirected to the forum homepage instead of the post. Per their screen shot (attached), they are logged in (I've crossed out their name for privacy).
The forum homepage has the "Apply for Membership" button, even though they are already subscribed.
?
How do I fix this?
?
Thanks in advance!

It's just that the GMF group doesn't seem to use hashtags as standard, hence me wondering how the GMF top 10 list came about. The results are always returned in alphabetical order based upon the lowercase version of the hashtag name, either ascending or descending as specified on the request.?
