Can you disable Calendar update emails?
If I create a calendar event, and then edit it, an email notification is generated to the group. Is there a way to disable notifications on event updates? I have several recurring events that might have a minor change, e.g. meeting time or topic or location. The minor updates don't necessarily need to be sent, as I am also sending a reminder email prior to the event, which would have the most recent info.?

Re: Invitation to join not being received
I am concerned that Comcast has somehow banned groups.io for this person.
We tried Requesting a subscription by using the ¡°group name+subscribe¡± option and Comcast returned a ¡°permanent error ¡° refusal. any ideas? Invitation to join not being received
I sent an invite to someone with a Comcast email and got the error message- This account does not exist.? I checked the email from a resident directory and found out I have been given an incorrect email. I sent an invite to the correct email. I got ones for ¡°processed¡± and ¡°sent¡±. I actually did this twice. The invite is not showing under ¡°sent invitations¡± and the potential subscriber has received nothing. Any clue as to why the subscriber is not receiving the invite? I am transferring ownership of our groups to a new admin. I would like to do this seamlessly, but they have not entered payment information and I cannot remove our payment info. How can I make sure that info is deprecated without shutting down our groups? You can remove your own credit card information from your account at any time (/account?page=billing). Having done that, you can no longer be billed. Assuming the new admin has the proper permissions, they can set themselves as payor using the instructions found at /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/about-groups-io-billing/changing-the-group-s-payor? You cannot do this for them. Regards, Bruce ? -- Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

Things were working, but two days ago, I was labled spam again and removed.I will try to clarify this, if I can. No one is accusing of sending spam emails. However, you did sign up to receive group messages. By definition, none of those can be spam, because you signed up to receive them. If you or -- your email provider -- mark a legitimate group message as spam, you're essentially telling groups.io that you don't want to receive any more "messages like this." Your provider notifies groups.io, and groups.io dutifully complies with the request and removes you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedback_loop_(email)? Further complicating the situation is that many email clients have the Delete and the Spam buttons side-by-side. It's easy to accidentally click the wrong one. While this all may seem rather extreme, the fact remains that many people can and do report group messages as spam instead of trying to figure out how to unsubscribe. In that sense, the system is working as it's supposed to. Regards, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

This may explain what's happening to me. I'm a longtime member of Groups.io and co-own a group called Crimescenewriter2. I switched our group over from Yahoo years ago. I'm the co-owner of the group and my account was labeled as spam and removed.? Because I
moderate and approve messages I set up a different email apart from my other groups.io accounts. Things were working, but two days ago, I was labled spam again and removed.? Now it says the email or password is incorrect and will not let me log on.
My co-owner says he's made me an owner again, however, I cannot log on. I'm afraid to log out of any of my other
groups.io accounts for fear of losing communication permanently with all my groups.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Paying a few months of premium, but not a full year
Hi,
I have a new group that is intended to be a long-term group, but I'm not 100% sure that the group will last a year.? It may meet for a few months and then fizzle out. If we sign up for monthly premium in May, will it work if we make a payment up front for 3, 4, 5, or 6 months of those payments?? Will the billing system know that we're paid through July or August or September? TIA, Cal |

Re: Why is this an invalid email address
It's a poor practice for an individual to use role-based addresses, and always has been. Follow-on question - is there an easy way for me to stay abreast of developments like this (without getting loads of emails)? We use the API from a membership system to add and remove group members and I will now have to make changes to that system to cater for thischange, and there will now also be discrepancies between that database and our forum. It would be good to be able to anticipate these things! Not a whinge, by the way... we love --
