The API solution would be the only choice other than manually viewing the activity of each user individually. IMHO, however, I recommend replacing "re-authenticate" with "maintain membership" as there is no authentication involved.

Strangely, their latest succesful delivery shows the same date (either guidelines or welcome notice sent in february 2018!). Before removing them, however, I wonder: can a member with a (red or blue) bouncing account still access the group and read messages via web? Regards, Marina |

Re: Suggestions for how to pay for your group

Ken,
That group wouldn't be affected by the change, unless you were planning on upgrading to Premium for other reasons. The new pricing structure only applies to groups created or upgraded after Monday the 18th. So your least cost, if you are content with the features you have, is to continue as a Basic group with legacy pricing and features. Re: Suggestions for how to pay for your group

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI polled the 1900 members of my free group about the change to fee per member pricing.? AS a large group, Enterprise size in the new pricing plan; upgrading now to Premium would save almost nine?hundred dollars a year to avoid the fee per member schedule for upgrades after Jan 18th.In four days I have had 130 responses, 81% favored upgrading now, versus staying free and wait for the fee per member prices to drop later.? One subscriber actually favored upgrade to Enterprise at $2200 per year.? I have had twenty members leave, obviously afraid of fee per member pricing.? I feel confident of more than enough donations to keep the list afloat.? I use Paypal to process payments for my part-time business.? I don't want to mix funds so am planning on a new, separate Paypal account just to collect subscriber donations.?? ken clark www.shastasprings.com

Hi All,
Seeing if there is a method by which I can have all members re-authenticate each year?? Here is the issue, some members are active, some are not, and seeing if there is an easy way to trim the non-active members each year by asking them to re-authenticate when they post, a script by which I can do this with an API, or if there is a function I am not aware of? Thanks in advance for any input. |

Re: Suggestions for how to pay for your group

Ken,
... but if an owner uses his/her own bank account to collect money forThis concern was raised in the beta "Pricing Changes" topic. And is a part of my motivation for the "Simplified Donation feature #suggestion": I'm also not a tax accountant, but I believe that (at least in the U.S.) the answer is no. But (strangely) the giver may be required report it if it exceeds a substantial exclusion per recipient. For the recipient the concern may be more one of having the operation of the group be construed as a business for tax purposes, requiring a filing as such. I think as long as the donation income represents an insignificant fraction of the group owner's income that would not be a likelihood. But... With the upcoming per-member charges for groups created on or after Monday the 18th it would be possible for a moderately large group to incur a large enough plan payment that it could be comparable to some people's income, particularly retirees. A group the size of GMF for example would cost upwards of $1,900/yr if created after that date. But I've never run a sole proprietorship business, so I've no idea what the rules really are. I'm not a lawyer and don't know the answer, but if an owner uses his/her own bank account to collect money for a "donation" to GROUPS.IO wouldn't he/she be liable for income taxes on that money? Re: backing up my list members?
Sarah,
Second of all, is there a way for me to back all of my list members inTwo ways. First on the Members page use the Download tab. Second, on the Setting page use the Export Group Data tab. /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/exporting-or-downloading-your-group-s-data The second method includes more detailed information, but the first is in an easier to use format (plain text CSV). Thanks, Sandi. This is a lot of great information.? Just looked at Group Works, and might?have gone with them if I had known about the new pricing model when we joined io. Am trying to figure out how they can offer this service for free. It looks very good and has no ads. What's the catch?? Susan D'Entremont |

Database export-import loses Image
#importingdata
#images
#database
#export
I've searched for other discussion to no avail. I've exported a Databases table to both JSON and CSV and imported same. In both cases, the images within Image-type fields are lost. JSON import simply has the image file name and a broken image icon. Both the exported JSON and CSV files have just the image file name - no URL.
