I thought the explanation was clear.? "Pending Members list > Message > 'Email delivery History'" will only show the last email delivered.? In your case, that was the confirmation email.? I believe that's always the case when someone is creating a new account at the same time as joining a group, the Pending goes out, then the Confirmation.? You're very unlikely to see that the Pending was sent unless you can sneak in for a look between the sending of those 2 messages.

It's easy to see if they already have an account because only the pending would be sent.

This box displays the delivery status of the most recently sent message only.

It could be that the confirmation message is the second one sent. It could also be (if the subscription still has an NC badge) that the Pending Subscription message is being withheld until the confirmation email has been responded to, at which time it will be sent. In either case the most recent message would be the confirmation email, and that would be the one displayed in the box.

Well Gerald, I should back up. Maybe there is a compelling reason...consistency.

Anything uploaded today displays the time it was received.
Anything uploaded this year will display Mmm dd
Anything uploaded in a previous year will display the date according to your account preference.

Message and photo date/timestamps, wiki edits, etc are all handled in this manner. If one is changed, all of them probably should be.

Gerald -- The date format does not comply with your personal account preferences unless the file was uploaded/updated in a previous year. This behavior is similar to the date/timestamp seen on messages, which shows the posting time for today's messages and the date for anything posted on a previous day.

I see no compelling reason why file upload dates should be handled in this manner and changing it would be a good #suggestion for beta.

No. If the applicant doesn't already have a groups.io account, a confirmation email is sent along with the Pending Subscription notice. I don't recall which is sent first.

I have a group member who says that
*her OWN REPLIES to group messages go to her spam folder*

It is not uncommon for spam filters to treat a message that is arriving To the same address it was ostensibly sent From as spam. Spammers and viruses of old often did that (put the destination address in the From field).

That's something the member will have to take up with their email interface by whatever controls it has for marking messages as "not spam" or whitelisting senders or filtering or whatever.

(This has been going on since the group transferred from Yahoo Groups
in December 2019.)

It didn't happen in the later years of Yahoo Groups due to their response to DMARC. They replace the From address in all messages - so her messages would no longer be From her, but From the group's posting address.

The effect is particularly pronounced when she is replying to a
certain member whose email address is /*@gmail.com*/

I don't know why that would be. Maybe something in that member's sig line or other characteristics gets the spam filter's attention.

User is a regular member of the group. email address:
/name/*@hotmail.com*

I don't use hotmail, so can't comment on their spam handling.

I also don't use Outlook.

Outlook is frequently cited as a troublemaker, but it may not be to blame in this case. But that does depend on which spam filter is catching her messages - the one at hotmail, or the one inside Outlook (if it has one).

relevant., I expect it will be IMAP

IMAP has the advantage that the user can access the server-side Spam folder from within Outlook (not so with POP3). But client apps and email services vary as to whether spam-related actions in the client inform the server side spam filter.

The example is sorted by date. I can't imagine I ever changed a setting to not show the year. All groups are showing the same date format changeover.

Hmm, hadn't noticed that before.? A bunch of my files (on several groups) that were uploaded way back when also have a Feb 7 date.? It's not all of them and I can't find a pattern to it.? I don't think it will be a problem for me, but it might be best for you to report it as a #bug on the beta group.

You're not logging in, you're accessing the web site.? Clicking on a link will attempt to take you to whatever address it contains.? It's up to you to make sure you're logged into the account that has access to where the link goes.? Unless you log out or remove cookies, you'll remain logged into the site with the last account you used (if it's been less than 30 days since you were there.)

I have 3 accounts that I use for various things.? Before leaving the site, I make sure I'm logged into this account so it's easy to access the next time.? The others are mostly for testing certain groups.

I don't have enough info to help. Did you migrate from YahooGroups? Did this file get transferred for you?

My recent files have a name attached as Uploaded.

You can also look in Admin, Activity. Use the search box to look for File.
