Thanks, Douglas. There's nothing left on the Yahoo account. Someone in the group did save them as a couple of zip files, but I have no idea how to drop those into the io account myself. I'll contact support, as you suggest, and if they can't help, I'll probably just delete the account.?

That wouldn't do any good.? GIO quit doing transfers in December when the information became unavailable to them after about the 15th.

Since you didn't follow the procedure, no transfer was (nor will be) done.? That required payment of a full year at once.? There would have been a notice sent when the transfer was completed if you'd done it properly.

I have been paying the premium fee in installments for 6 months but still am not seeing the messages. How can I find out if the process was successful? If we've just lost all our yahoo messages, I don't want to keep paying the premium fee. If they're going to appear, I'd like to know that so I don't cancel the premium subscription prematurely. Was there ever any kind of confirmation of successful transfer sent out? I don't remember seeing one.

Okay - may I ask to prevent what problems? It is causing a problem in our group now because we won't know if an owner sent the ads letter to their group or groups. How can we work around it? Leeni ? ? ? ?

I run an ads letter. The members have to send to their groups by putting their groups in the TO: Field and then they have to CC the group's owner using the owner's email address. ? What usually happens is we then get to see who they sent the copy of the ads letter to and that they CC'd us. If it only does this on one of your PCs, then it is definitely a problem with the settings in your email program on that computer.

A lot of email programs try to "help" you by throwing away the sender's name and replacing it with a name from your address book or contacts list. What you want to do is:

(1) Turn of this setting, if you can, and/or

(2) Remove incorrect entries from your address book.

Hi Frances...the funny thing I failed to mention was this appears on 1 PC only. My other PC does not do that??

I made a top-level post (sent from Thunderbird, not from the web page) to start off a new thread/topic.
When I reply to the top-level post (my own post that starts a new thread), the headers in the reply are:
Reply-to:
To:
(In that order).

When I reply to someone's reply to my post (so, not the top-level post), the only header is To: (as I would expect)?

What's going on here?? Is this a bug in Groups, or an intended behavior, or is there a setting in Thunderbird that I need to change?

(Note that I haven't seen this before.)

You could also explain the trouble this causes to group members and tell them not to do it or they will be moderated.? You might also add this requirement to the group guidelines.

I believe it means that it's on the new/redesigned home page, which is currently only available on beta@.

I feel really remiss in not reviewing this stuff, but I'm hearing good things about it. (The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy with my day job.)

Interesting. I guess if the sender put multiple addresses in the To field it could have been confusing. Particularly in cases where the additional addresses included one or more of the owners' personal addresses.
