Re: text in post not showing on digest
I just noticed this type of thing today. We're having a discussion about something, and another poster responds to me partially by quoting my message, but showing his suggested edits within the quoted part - and the quoted part is completely missing from the digest. So, a digest person would have to logon to the site to see the full message. This is really really bad! A discussion back and forth should not be truncated.
I remember seeing something here about placing text under the quoted text so all would be included (well, I seem to remember that), but enforcing that is dicey. One of the features of a good GUI is not to expect the user to remember how to do things, it should just flow from the options on screen, etc. OK, enough preaching ;-) So, does "at least for now" mean there might be some consideration to making sure quoted text stays put in digests? |

I don¡¯t show any pending subscribers (Although their are 3)Yes you do; according to your 2nd photo the Members tab clearly shows 3 pending. OTOH your Pending tab shows no messages awaiting action, as per the 1st photo. As has already been pointed out Pending refers to messages; Members refers to, er members, either awaiting entry or "substantive". Please provide a screenshot of what you get when you click on the Members tab. Chris |

They are instead listed as members even though they weren¡¯t approved, and their not listed as a member.I'm struggling to make sense of the above sentence. Are you trying to get people approved, or is the displayed number the only problem? Bruce |

Hi, The good news is that businesses that are already GDPR compliant will have no issues with the new California Law (CCPA), according to this article :- By the way, I am not a lawyer. Please consult a lawyer if you are not sure of your need to comply with any of these new laws - GDPR since May 2018 and CCPA in January 2020. John Russell |

How do I Import a list of links from y!g to a Database ? Done it before! I have previously built/imported data for Links databases on three groups transfered from y!g to Gio. OK. [ normally I will build a spreadsheet, Save As a .csv and Import ] I can import a .csv into columns more or less successfully, but links are not clickable . ok . I can build a database of clickable URLs manually, row by row. ok I cannot now figure out how to Import data to fill a Links database. Has something changed? or have I lost the plot? You have got the GDPR thing slightly wrong. GDPR requires the ability for a user to REQUEST removal of messages. It does not require users ability to remove messages personally.I'm not sure how much of the GDPR angle is speculation, but either way: you're right in that GDPR may not require that users have the right to remove content personally. They do, however, have the right to request that Groups.io stop distributing it, and when they request it, the request must be met, unless there is a legally valid reason to deny the request.? So... if users can always request this, and if their requests always have to be met, then I think it's just common sense (from an administrative perspective) to give users that ability directly.? It reduces paperwork. Samuel |
