Not necessarily. It is just possible that she is looking at a cached page in her browser.

You say that she accepted the invitation you sent with her new email address; can you now see her in your Members List? If not then there is still something wrong. If you can see her, but she can't see your content then I think she should perhaps log out, log back in again and if necessary do a page refresh just to be on the safe side.

If that doesn't work then we'll have to think of something else...
Well, the problem still is that I can?t see her in the members list. She already looged out, logged back in again and did page refreshes.

Victoria; something else to check. Invited Member and Accepted Invitation are both specific actions that are recorded in the Activity log.

Are you able to find entries in your group's log for (a) your invitation and (b) her acceptance of it?

Re: Android phone user unable to reply to messages

It seems to be a client configuration problem. I suggest asking the subscriber if he has his mail client configured to block sending of mail to either subdomain addresses or foreign top-level domains. Unfortunately, he probably won't know. Maybe if he can simply tell us what client he is using someone else here is also using it and can provide further advice.

Yes, he's trying to send the message to:

[email protected]?subject=Re:Winter projects

instead of to:

[email protected]

Try hovering over or copying the "Reply To Group" link at the bottom of Groups.io mails, and you'll see where it comes from.

He clicked the "Reply To Group" link at the bottom of the e-mail, which is a mailto link but which attempts to include a pre-filled subject line in the link. This pre-filling of subject lines isn't standard, but many e-mail systems or programs do support it in some or other way.

It would mean that his e-mail system (AOL Mail) does not support pre-filled subject lines via the mailto link.

Does AOL Mail not have its own dedicated "Reply" button?

I can log in, but can¡¯t see how to get to admin. I obviously can¡¯t administer any groups, as I am not a member of any groups apart from this one.?

Looking at my account profile it looks like I joined at 4:47 AM today, but I have been a member for several years.?

Re: Member metrics

That's about as laborious as it was on Yahoo.? All the data is there....would be nice if a little code could be written to bring it all together.? Anything that lessens the Owner's load and gives them more info to help run their group is a good thing.

I DID invite her with the new address intending to make her a member. And although whe accepted the invitation, she does not become a member. Or do I understand something wrong?

I asked about this a couple weeks ago. When you open Messages you see a list of all the topics. Each topic displays the number of messages under that topic. Below each topic is the beginning of the originating message. It would make so much more sense if the beginning of the most recent message was displayed instead, because unless you're keeping track of the number of messages under a topic, knowing how many there are doesn't alert you to a new message. I've failed to find a way to change the listing of topics under the Messages tab to display the beginning of the most recent message(s). Is there a way to do this?

Many thanks -

To convert Excel to plain text, do the following:
  1. Select the column containing the email addresses

3. Open the Direct Add page for your group, click in the Emails box
4. Type Ctrl+V to paste that column's text from your clipboard.

Yes, if she's not a member of the group, she won't see some of the group information.? If your group archives are public, she can read them, but not reply.? I think making her a member of the group with the email address she's using should 'fix' things.

Re: invitee doesn?t appear in the members list

Bruce,
I checked all this with the applicant by telephone and tried to do it together. Yes, she did have a different yahoo-email adress before, but I removed this identity of her from the list. So she isn?t a member under the old address any more. Can this nevertheless still play a role even though she is now removed?
