There is also an Export Group Data function, but I've been unable to figure out which of the Moderator permissions would allow one to do that. It's possible the function is only available to Owners. If there's no status at all, not even the box instructing you to send
the invitation, then you haven't initiated the transfer, and your
invitation will be discarded. See the screen shot under "Start the
Transfer Process" here:

An invitation I sent out from a Yahoo Group over the weekend took about
12 hours to arrive in my email inbox. So it may not have
evaporated.

Out of desperation I went/have-been looking in the rolls by date; the most
recent join was in 2018.? I¡¯d actually done the payment on Friday but it
didn¡¯t process in the .io system until Sunday, apparently, based on the
date.? I also sent another invite yesterday, just in case, and again this
morning, because...

... at least at 6AM EDT, the invite (both of them) had not been
accepted.
?
Of course, I also accept that YG may be choking right now, as I¡¯d sent a
note off to two different other YGs where the move to .io is already done, and
my server told me that they were not successful in sending them, now twice (two
notices, a day apart).
?
Sigh...
?
Thanks for the assistance.? Like many here, this amounts to an entire
history which will be flushed soon if we don¡¯t succeed.

enable download_archives permission
valcos
Hi,
I would like to download archives from a group, however I see that I don't have the download_archives permission (/api#download-archives). I asked the group's owner but he doesn't know how to grant me this permission. Is there any documentation that explains how to enable the download_archives permission for a group? Thanks in advance, Valerio |

Hello chaps,
I'm fairly new to Groups.io (I came from Yahoo Groups). I have various questions... * Is there a general user guide or FAQ anywhere? * Can you set messages to avoid the grouping and the need to use the Split? I can see that it would be useful sometimes but I generally don't need it Thanks ??? Steve |

Re: Downloading group from Yahoo while waiting for transfer
YG is both "choking" user download and delay posting the last posts.
I have been downloading over 20 sites the past few days.? Starting last night they started "choking" or throttling? downloads .? We keep keen eye on the net conditions, ping tests, etc.? The slow down is YG.? I have also found some of the sites appear and then disappear in front of our eyes.? YG is shutting down servers and since they are redundant servers, the remaining ones are choking. Verizon is planning on building a new package to compete with facebook and google forums and such.? So they purchased YG structure to gut it and build something new. I fully expect there will be more competitors to gourps in the near future.? Going from a 5,000 dollar project to a 100 million dollar project in 24 months.? Server capacity is near to noting in cost now days. |
Re: Somehow my font size changed for one of my groups
Hi, Linda.? I suspect your browser is 'remembering' a font size setting for that URL.? Clearing your browser cache will force the browser to reload the site, and may clear that setting.? Clearing cache does not cause the browser to lose all remembered login credentials - that would only happen if you 'cleared data' as well.

Re: Transferring recent messages which missed the automatic move window.
Janis,
They get sent out to the group again, so I only choose thoseYou can prevent the resend by creating a hashtag with the No Email property, and appending that to the subject line of the messages as you copy them over. /static/help#hashtags What you call the hashtag is up to you. You could name it something that indicates the origin of the message, like #FromYahoo, that would also serve the purpose of distinguishing these messages from new ones. Question [about IP addresses and banning]
Debbie
I have a few questions ?
1. Can you banned someone with using a different email address that matches there same IP addy? 2. How can you delete messages from the group site ? 3. Is there anyway you can hide an IP address when you join a group that is not cool thing that our iP addys are out there ? Not saying me but it is true? I had members asking me and I have no idea but that is a private matter with that,, I am sure you do this because of problems with bullying or whatever , believe me I know still dealing with it for months..
