Re: Narrow formatting in Digests?

I¡¯ve attached a Digest, sent to list and to you directly, Bruce,Attachment worked ok. It looks like the formatting design is contained in the HTML code, to fit nicely under the Groups IO graphic, which will be a fixed size. It's not difficult to change this, but it's something Groups IO codewriters will have to do. A post in [email protected] would probably be more productive (or at least, more likely to be seen by the right people). I have not tried plaintext Digest, but I assume it wouldn¡¯t beYou assume correctly. If a post isn't formatted by the sender, it won't be formatted anywhere else until it reaches the reader. -- rgds LAurence <>< |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAh, so you mean via Gmail or equivalent¡ªinteresting. I wonder if those environments deliberately override the table width. I know that most Android clients don¡¯t scroll tables left/right in email; our corporate communications insists on sending announcements as tables, even though I¡¯ve told them ¡°I¡¯m not going to scroll left-right to read this one my phone, and you¡¯re presumably trying to communicate, so stop it¡±. iPhone mail does reflow tables. So there¡¯s something interesting going on there. I¡¯m not an HTML maven (and have no desire to be one), so have not investigated further. ? Yes, you can edit a subject. Go to her post on the group website, and use the dropdown menu.

Is it possible to edit a subject?

Bee
Just a quick query -
After S etting up ¡°Intro¡± as a hashtag on my group, I then sent my own intro with the subject ¡°Abi #Intro¡± explaining how my (mainly elderly) members could go to the online group and create their own intro. Almost immediately someone replied to the message with their own Intro - with the result her Intro is headed ¡°Abi #Intro¡± ? Is there a way I can edit the subject on her reply to read her name, whilst retaining my own name in the subject of my original post? ?Otherwise searching for members¡¯ introductions is going to become very confusing! Thanks! Abi ps. ?Just seen that posts to this group have tripled in the last month. ?Big shout out to all of those keeping up with the sudden influx of questions and being so patient with all us newbies! ?What a great job you¡¯re all doing - you have my gratitude!? |

As to your earlier point I was still trying to understand the GIO history on why this hasn¡¯t been addressed in the 18 months since Chris raised it when this happened, .the only answer I can provide is that some suggestions catch Mark's eye fairly easily; others don't. In reality there seem to be a lot of perfectly valid suggestions that fall by the wayside. If and when the dust settles I'll try to raise it again on beta.Well, for some functions you will probably have to wait forever owed to the huge volume of inquiries. So as far my groups are concerned, I found a temporary solution by creating a new member with owner adress (email and alias). So, if I want an owner message without my personal name showing up, I log in with this new member?s address. My moderators were provided with the new address and password as well, so they can use it if it is indicated. Victoria |

Trouble with my group messages transfer
I setup and expedited a transfer of all our messages in our current Yahoo Group (no attachments, no photos, no members) over to Groups.io. I got an email saying ¡°messages¡± were transferred but when I went to the Group to which we specified everything be moved, there was zero old postings in there. Anyone else have this issue? What did I do wrong in my setup of either group or the transfer instructions that would prevent a single old Yahoo Group message from being ported over?
