Re: SubGroups
According to the Pricing page, /static/pricing, you can have an unlimited number of subgroups.? It would be up to you to sort out what area they cover.? If you plan to store Files, Photos, and/or Attachments, you'd need to consider the storage limits.

Hi Shal,
This week's change log:I think this week's change log is actually at I'm also trying to understand more about the change regarding clean links etc.? A search on beta suggests that this is related to editing pending messages: ? Can someone clarify what exactly this function is cleaning?? Is it just related to UTM tracking references on a URL (see for a description of these) or does it do something completely different? Thanks Andy |

Pamela,
There was a problem with outlook.com before putting everything in the spam folder.? However, I think that was corrected.? I know I have outlook.com and have no problem receiving messages from this group, the beta group, or the group I am Co-Owner,

question on constant bouncing
Good Saturday friends I was a bit concern about my account Today I unbounced myself from all groups io groups. ? I find it easy to do but this is the 3rd time in the last 2 months alone that I have been bouncing and I have no idea why so often. Can someone shed a little light on what would have my account bounce so often? Thanks, Concern group owner/member |

Re: Email to group falling into a black hole
Marv,
It looks like a message specific issue. The user sent the messageIf they were addressed correctly to the group's posting address then they should show in the Activity Log. I am considering asking him to try to post the message one more time,You could temporarily put him on Override: Moderated before the repost. Then delete it if it arrives in the Pending list. If you do, have him also CC it to your address directly. That might provide a clue as to whether the message didn't send, or wasn't accepted by Groups.io. I am not very familiar with Apple email. Do they perform aggressiveI've never used Apple email, but I have used email services that would block me from sending messages that contained specific things. The case I can think of involved an attachment with a "dangerous" (executable) file type - this was back in the heyday of infected computers being used to send viruses on to everyone in the user's email address book. But if Apple mail did something like this it should at least have sent back an error message about why the message wasn't sent. There was a time when Yahoo Groups would reject inbound messages that contained certain Subject text - again back in the heyday of viruses. But I don't believe Groups.io does anything of the sort, and if they did I'd expect the sender to get an error back, as well as the "attempted to send" appearing in the Activity Log. Re: Message formatting options not shown
Andy,
The other effect of course is that it prevents outgoing HTML posts.I minor technical point, but it isn't so much that it controls outgoing posts, as that a posting made on site is handled as an incoming post, up to the point where it is approved (or posted, if it doesn't need approval). So the web interface hides the formatting controls as they could only cause confusion when the message posted without formatting. Re: all mail reply to sender

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýColleen,
Yes. The Admin pages in a group can only be seen by a group moderator (with appropriate permissions) or group owner. Here's what it looks like for a group owner: In this example, the Message Policies section of the page, including the Reply To option would be further down the screen. Groups.io site updates
#changelog
Hi all,
This week's change log: Feel free to reply to this topic if you'd like to comment on the changes. Or better yet, if you expect a lot of discussion start a new topic (or rejoin an existing one) about a specific change. NEW: Added more tracking query parameters that are removed with theOk, so apparently this function is more about "sanitizing" links (for your protection) than removing them. So to see its effect one would need an example of a "dirty" link. Comments about these are welcome: BUGFIX: Fixed search query escaping (phrase search and regex search Please call out any you find significant. Re: moderator only hashtag used by non-moderators?
On Sat, Jan 26, 2019 at 02:10 PM, Jonathan Sivier wrote:
What happens if a normal subscriber originates a message with a hashtag that is only usable by a moderator? I understand that replies to a message with such a hashtag work and continue to contain the hashtag, but what happens with an original message from a non-subscriber? Is the message moderated or rejected or something?I had no idea, so I tested it in my test group. If you compose a message in the online editor and insert a moderator-restricted hashtag, the message does not go out when you hit the Send button. The page instead refreshes, with an error to the effect that the hashtag is reserved; and the message remains in Draft form, waiting for you to edit the subject line. If you send one to the group via email, a return email comes back stating something similar, with an "editsubject" link that allows you to go edit the message (online) and resend. It is neither Rejected nor Pending, but again appears as a Draft, just as if you had initiated it online. I didn't expect that, but it makes sense. If you aren't logged in at the time you click on the link, you are taken to the login page. After you complete login the editor is immediately displayed, with the draft ready to be edited. Sensible. If you happen to be logged in with a different account at the time, clicking on the emailed link takes you to the group home page, with no explanation as to why it "didn't work." So that's somewhat disconcerting. If a non-subscriber does the same (in a group that allows non-subscribers to post), the message goes into Pending status and awaits moderation, as usual. If the message is subsequently accepted, it posts to the group complete with the hashtag, regardless of the hashtag use restriction. ? Re: Mesages not making it to the group
Chris,
Are you a Basic (free) group or one that is paid - for? If the latterI don't think that matters. A past-due payment causes the group to revert to Basic, it doesn't disable it altogether. If you cannot find anything then an email to [email protected]Given the evidence I concur. I don't see anything in the Group Settings listed on the home page that would explain an inability to post. Re: Mesages not making it to the group
Don,
There is no evidence in the logs that the messages have been receivedThat's interesting. And worthy of your request to support. Any message correctly addressed to the group's posting address should be in the logs, either as "attempted to send" (a rejection) or "sent message" (either posted or requiring approval). I attempted to create a message in the web interface and that is notThat's even more peculiar. If there's a technical glitch I can't do anything about it (only support can), but I'm curious. Mind if I try a test posting in your group? I'd be a new member so you should be able to catch my message in pending and delete it.
