I suspect the 'time before epoch' will equal your local offset from UTC.
Seen that happen in Unix systems for decades.

Terry -- I don't see it that way. Bouncing members can be easily found by selecting Bouncing from the blue pull-down menu at upper left.

Depends on what you mean by a "failure." Depending on the group's purpose, someone who is lurking without making any contribution to the group could be legitimately culled as deadwood. A statistical summary of group activity by member ("posts in the past 180 days" or something of that nature) would be welcome addition to the Member List. Perhaps other mechanisms could be made available.

But I'm just a group owner, like yourself. Any actual suggestion should be taken to Mark.?

That's right before Unix epoch time (1/1/1970, 00:00:00), question is how much, is it just one second so that the pictures' timestamp is 0xffffffff, or is it 12/31/1969 23:00:00? If you download an image, does the image file's EXIF header show that timestamp?

Either way, this sounds like a bona fide bug.

Karin -- You CAN send someone an invitation to a subgroup. Accepting the invitation will add that person to both the subgroup and the main group.

My Premium group does not have any subgroups, so I cannot test the scenario that Shal outlined. In any event, the person will end up a member of the main group, too. There is no way around that.

For a single person you can go to the Subgroups page in your /primary/ groups Admin pages, find or search for him in that list, then use the checkboxes to assign which subgroup(s) you want him to be in.

For multiple addresses you can use Direct Add from the /primary/ group: it will have checkboxes for what subgroup(s) to add the list of addresses to. This works fine even if one or more is already a member of the primary group - it just gives you a harmless notification that they were already a member of the Primary group.

The date 12/31/1969 is very suspicious to me, it is the day before the . Briefly, all UNIX machines and many others do not store dates internally as something like "12/31/69" but rather as an integer representing the number of seconds since some arbitrary point in time.? The integer is then converted on demand into whatever format the user desires. For UNIX machines, that arbitrary date is midnight UTC on 1/1/1970, which is why I think that this date is particularly interesting, as if someone fed -1 to a date integer.

We had a case where one of our three owners had to be removed for the good of our mission and the survival of the group.
He literally went off the rails, interrogating new applicants as if they were potential foreign spies.
When we quizzed him about why, he shouted at us in 64 point type with a vocabulary I haven't heard since the iceman delivered a block to my Grandma.
He truly went nuts, continuing to? rant and rave even though we were not responding.

If we had to get his approval to delete/demote him we could not possibly have gotten it.

If you wish to cause a catastrophe, require simultaneous approval of all owners.? Otherwise, forget it because it will become an obstacle when you least need a boulder in your way.

So I think the remedy I stumble on to works best for us. Let them title and send no hash, then pick a hash when the symptom prompt makes it brain dead easy to do ?
