Member reported an email as spam?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Good Day!

?

I am new to Groups.io, and received a message that a member of one of my groups reported an email as spam:

>> This is to notify you that xxx@... has been unsubscribed from your group [email protected] because message <subject>was marked as spam. Note that this may have been done by their email service provider, not by the individual member personally. They've been given a link that lets them quickly resubscribe, in case this was an error.<<

So, is that the way this works?? If anyone marks a message as spam they automatically get unsubscribed?

I notice it says their ISP may have done this automatically without their knowledge¡.and just like that, they are removed?

Is there a way of making sure that they are not unknowingly being removed?

Thanks for your help!

David

Is it possible to send a bulk query email to all members that have Delivery = "No Email"?

Another criteria would exclude anyone who has logged into the site recently (i.e. based on a login timestamp).

I'm aware of Bulk Remove for doing the removal - I just need a way to create the list of email addresses.

Thanks!

I changed it from bounced to stripped and that worked. I have POP accounts, no Mime. I can¡¯t find any settings that would produce attachments out of thin air.

Thank you for the article ¡ª I see the icons for encrypted but had no idea what they are. I¡¯ve been using mail for 20+ years but they do keep adding things.

Mark did not use the term "large non-profits." He is specifically giving a discount on the enterprise plan to non-profits. (I assume he means 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4), but that's not clear.)

Oops; something sent a reply before it was finished. (Sorry)

The problem might be down to a difference in Settings > Message Formatting.

Attachments can be (a) Allowed (b) Bounced (c) Stripped (d) Moderated. Your current problem suggests that your "problem group" is set to Bounce.

I think it is necessary to define what exactly is meant by "non - profit". A hobby - based group is almost certainly going to be "non - profit", but its value is limited to the adherents of the hobby. OTOH a group might have wide - scale humanitarian aid as its ethos; in that case there is a clear (even if only potential) benefit well outside just those who are members of the group.

It's 5 cents a month or 55 annually

I have several committee groups in Groups.io for my non-profit organization. I didn't ask for a discount, because free is even better. We don't want or need a high profile site with all the bells and whistles of the enterprise plan. We don't need our own branding, for example. I am grateful to be able to have these groups to make everything work better. I was lucky - an early adopter. And of course, anything you have now, you are protected as legacy enabled (i.e. grandfathered).

Russell, as the moderator noted on your post, the place to critique Mark's pricing is on the beta group.

However, as I said, based on my read of Mark's announcement - it is what it is.
