Re: Emails from New Members
First, check the Email Delivery History - go to Ashley's profile in Members in Admin.?
And Admin, Activity. Check Message Activity, moderator, etc. I am not sure that you need to manually change an invitee's status. If you want no moderation, just make sure that in Group Settings, Spam Control, you select Moderate after 1 post. That means you must moderate the first one, but not their next post.? And scroll way down and click on Update Group. Check this - in Settings, scroll down to Message Policies.
Make sure Allow Non Subscribers to Post Posts by non-subscribers will be moderated, instead of rejected.

Re: Possibility to merge two email addresses?
Chromatest, Why is requesting permission to post from an email address that is not mentioned anywhere in the headers? Because a message from G* (the alias) is treated as being from B* (the subscription address). But.... what's changed?? I've been posting to the list right along and nothing has changed on my end.. Why all of a sudden am I getting moderation messages on myself? That I don't know. Things to check:
A take-away from that list is that ownership of the group has nothing to do with whether message posts are moderated. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
Re: Possibility to merge two email addresses?
Chromatest J. Pantsmaker
Okay, now this is really weird.
As I was logged into groups.io with one of the group owner accounts, I posted the message.? This was using the groups.io web interface, not by sending email. I *STILL* got a moderation email requesting me to approve it, which I finally did. Any ideas? |
Re: Possibility to merge two email addresses?
I'm revisiting this because I'm getting some strange behavior. I have three primary email addresses, each from a different domain, all three able to be sent "FROM" from the same gmail login.
Earlier today, I replied to a message on a group that I own and I got a bounce/moderation message for that. The moderation message was for one of my addresses, but NOT from the one that I posted as. I deleted that message and tried a couple more times, making sure I was posting from the correct account. I was. Finally, I tried again and BCC'd a totally unrelated email address so I could look at the headers. The address in the moderation message was nowhere in the headers. More info: The group is owned by chromatest@B* _and_ chromatest@C* The gmail account I'm logged into and sending email from is chromatest@G* which is a groups.io alias of chromatest@B* The account that I'm trying to post FROM is chromatest@C* So, I'm sending an email (a reply to a post) from an email address which is a groups.io group owner using a gmail account which is a groups.io alias of another group owner account. The moderation message is requesting permission to post as chromatest@B*, which is a group owner and shouldn't be moderated. The members list shows it as owner and not NuM. So... does anybody understand what I'm saying here? Any idea how to fix it? Why is groups.io requesting permission to post from an email address that is not mentioned anywhere in the headers? Oh.. I just had an idea. The two email addresses in the header is the @C* and the @G*. The @G* is a groups.io alias to @B*, so maybe that's where it's getting it. But.... what's changed? I've been posting to the list right along and nothing has changed on my end.. Why all of a sudden am I getting moderation messages on myself? |

Hi Anita,Hi Kevin and Anita. Kevin - do you know if there is there such a link to Yahoo groups? I've spent hours trying to hack my way in using yahoo Help, but no success. My access has been blocked since before Christmas when I tried to change my email address - and I own the Group! Shal is waiting to work on this for me, (I'm still very busy at the moment, Shal), but I just found your posting. Strangely, I can still post messages, but only if I reply if I reply to a member's posting, and I can't contact a pink at yahoo without paying them money - and then it may be that I cannot restore my account anyway - ie it's terminal. I can't enter or open any section of the group. -- Not so Cheers. -------- Doug Harris Cambridge, New Zealand |
