Re: [email protected] not working for me

And the above is EXACTLY what I have done, yet six weeks out the first failed acceptance of my invite, and nearing three weeks after my second attempt, I sit with no acceptance of the invite. Very unimpressed. Who runs IO???

Re: [email protected] not working for me

I am in the same boat. I have followed the steps precisely, yet here I sit, weeks later and no acceptance of the original invite. I've even reread the steps, done it all again...and now getting closer to three weeks after the second attempt...nothing.? If IO works that poorly for this long, what is going on???

Re: [email protected] not working for me

I have? done 1-10 precisely....yet does patience mean several weeks with no acceptance of my invte??? Several weeks? Very disappointed.?

Re: IO never accepts invitation to be a member of my Yahoo group. Why?? What do I do?

Same, Joe B. And it's been WEEKS and no acceptance of invitation. Have even done it twice.?

Re: IO never accepts invitation to be a member of my Yahoo group. Why?? What do I do?

Shal, I am following the directions seen here and exactly:?/yahootransfer?Yet I never get to Step 3 because IO never becomes a member via the invite. Just checked for the umpteenth time to see if the invite was accepted--nada.?

In this group no members are moderated. Since it is a Signature Tagging Group, the members cannot post, only the taggers and they aren't moderated. Me as an owner isn't moderated either.
?
My resend I made just a few minutes ago made?it to the group without a problem.
The original message that I sent at 10:00 AM CDT has yet to make it to the group.
?
A Message last night was delayed about 3 hours?but a message I had sent after right after?the original message last night made?it to the group right away.
?
It seems only some messages are being held up, not all.

Re: Do I need a Groups.io a ccount? A subscriber asked....

For sure everything on groups.io is easier than Yahoogroups. It's such a pleasure not having to try (and unsuccessfully) explain how to log into YG.

________________________________
I'd say you were correct, but incomplete.

When the group was transferred from Yahoo, each person had an account created for them that is their email address.? (The exception would be anyone that previously used that email address to open an account here.? In that case, they were added to your group.)? They can change their message delivery via email using the addresses as shown at /static/help#emailcommands.

If they'd like to use the group online, they could use the information at /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-to-Set-a-Personal-Password-and-Profile%3B-Changing-Email-Address to check it out.? Note that they never need to set a password if they don't want to, they can just use the "Email me a link to log in" when they want to access the group online.? Once they've logged in, they will stay logged in for 30 days on each device unless they intentionally log out.? The links I gave are to publicly viewable pages, so you can include them in emails when answering questions.

Having an account here is so much easier than Y! that it often confuses people! ;>)

I'd take a look at the Source Code of the message that was delivered to see where it was held up.? More than likely it was your email service, but the time stamps along the way will tell you for sure.

I have a few blind members that would like to not receive New Subscriber Notifications in their messages. Is there a way for me as the admin to do this...
Go to Admin>Members. Pull down the blue Members menu at top left and select "Moderators."

Find the user record and click on it. Scroll down to Notifications and uncheck "Email when a member joins/leaves this group." Continue to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Save.

It's a Charter problem... they don't care much about customer service so they
do this sort of blocking arbitrarily. there are plenty of other places
sending far more email to them, but they don't know Groups.io. Your
subscriber should call Charter support and complain... and he/she should have
a full copy of the message in hand when doing so. He will probably have to
ask for the complaint to be "escalated" to higher level support before he
stands a chance of getting it resolved. And when he gets someone who has a
clue he needs to tell them that Groups.io is a groups site just like
Yahoogroups and GoogleGroups and shouldn't be blocked.
?
Yeah, I know, subscribers throw up their hands when told this, but Charter
(and others) don't listen to non-customers so there's not a lot of choice.

Members shouldn't get New Subscriber notifications, only moderators (if they've chosen to receive the emails.)

I'm pretty sure this is a bug that you should report to [email protected]? There was a change made to the code for the Subscribe to Calendar in mid-August and this is likely related.

Mail not being delivered

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I sent some time sensitive mail to my group last night around 11 PM Central Time
It didn't reach the group until 12:26AM Central time
?
Then again this morning I sent an email to the same group around 10 AM and it still hasn't shown up in the group.
?
I did send mail to another one of my groups and it reached the group fine.
I wonder what the problem is if any?

I run a group with a Main group and 8 Subgroups. The option to subscribe to the Subgroup calendars is greyed out on the subgroups. Ideally, the members of my group should be able to subscribe to the Main calendar and subscribe to the calendar of the Subgroup to which they belong. Is there a way to make that work?
