Unusual Invitation Status

I've been receiving the following notation for an invitation

"Deferred - dial tcp4 15.197.148.33:25: i/o timeout"

I've sent the invitation twice with the same response. The invitation has the same settings as the others and all other invitations have been accepted normally.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Re: Font Size when posting messages

My font sizes are all messed up, too.

I wish someone would check my account to see what's wrong. ?

Before the changes default was Helvetica Neue and size 16 was perfect.
Now it's System-UI and I have to use 24 to get the previous 16 size font.

It's a pain to change everything every day every time!!!!

Thank you.

Font Size when posting messages

Edited

When I am posting messages message comes out very small and is extremely difficult to read.? The font size on this group is much bigger and easier to read.? And the font from origional site is same size as this font but comes out like below any suggestions?? Thanks in advance for your help.
??

When I originally posted before it was approved for posting this was very small and now appears normally.??

  • Ingredients
    • 2?bananas

    • 2?cups?dark chocolate chips (if you prefer a sweeter treat, swap with semi-sweet)

    • ??cup?almond butter?

    • Flaky sea salt, optional

    Directions
    1. Slice bananas into ¡°coins¡± and lay them out on a parchment paper lined dish or tray.

    2. Spread some almond butter onto one of the banana coins and use another piece of banana to create a sandwich. Continue until all of your banana slices are used up. Pop the bananas in the freezer for an hour or so.

    3. Melt chocolate in a heat-safe glass bowl. (I melt mine in the microwave in 15 second increments.)

    4. Take the bananas out of the freezer and use a fork to gently dip each into the chocolate, so it covers at least half of the banana sandwich.

    5. Once all of the bananas are covered in chocolate and are back on the tray, sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top of each one. Pop them back in the freezer until hardened, about 30 minutes.

    6. Enjoy immediately or store them in the freezer to savor at a later date. Your chocolate banana bites will stay fresh for up to a week (if they last that long).

Re: Help needed - Blind administrator re: Calendar

I also use a screen reader, I have no problems wig th calendar at all. I would switch to daily mode and go that way or even weekly then tab through the days and controls. it's actually better that way for now. I run 3 or 4 groups here.

Thanks and happy Monday.

I am a blind administrator and use NVDA as my screen reader. I am using Firefox as the browser, although the same issue exists in Edge. My problem occurs when using the calendar, in my case in the Monthly table option. When I go through a day's events, it will read the first couple, then the last events for that day will be displayed as plus one more, or maybe plus two more.

I have tried maximising the browser, and even using the Restore option, but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone tell me how to display all the events on the Monthly table? I know this can be resolved as I've done it before by maximising the browser, but this isn't working this time. This is causing a problem as I can't edit any events where this occurs, and I can only use the Monthly option for accessibility reasons.

Best wishes

Re: Help needed - Blind administrator re: Calendar

Hi Simon,
Please send an email to info@... (and also to me) so we (NV access folks and I) can take a look at it (at least one NV Access dev is a Groups.IO admin, so they should be able to reproduce it).
Cheers,
Joseph

"I¡¯m not saying that should enforce, or even suggest it, but why don¡¯t more do it themselves?

Otto" in ref. to groups listing the names of mods, owners, etc.

I run a large number of genealogy or genealogy society focused groups. My name is irrelevant to 99% of the users, because they care about the topic, not the community surrounding it. Those involved in the community aspect know who run the group and are the most likely volunteer mods.?

Your mileage may vary.

Just so we're clear, do you want to remove the group from the site directory listing (reversible) or make the message archive private (non-reversible)?

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

Only owners or those moderators with the "Modify Group Settings" permission can change it.

Re: List of group Owners/Admins/Moderators

I agree, Don. I don¡¯t particularly want to do that. I¡¯m pretty visible within my group, and I may be missing something but I don¡¯t see a reason to share with the public.?

Re: List of group Owners/Admins/Moderators

Oh I can think of some ... for example, if the group is a support group of some kind, especially if for things like mental health/medical or other sensitive issues and topics.? If you have a group with selected individuals - maybe a family group, where you might wish to keep any kind of contact info just within the group and not to non-members?? Maybe a legal group or something of similar?type, don't want angry?past clients to find you.? I mean, each group is different, however I can see certain situations needing to not make that info readily known/available.

Not all groups want to expose the group owners and/or their email addresses to
the public. Also, sometimes groups get a member who gets mad and tries to
disrupt things. If the owners/moderators were listed, that could mean they would
have to deal personally with the person.

I don't list the owners/moderators in any of the 20+ groups I manage on the
group home page. If they need to communicate with us, the group-owner address is
the usual way to do so. I have not encountered any groups I am part of that
lists these.

Frances, Thanks for your hint !? This provided the information I was looking for.
?
As it turns out I am one of the owners, but hadn't used the Admin functions as someone else was primary..
?
Until you provided the hint to filter on Moderator, the all members list did flag who were owners/moderators.

Rush, I assume you are not a moderator or owner of the group.?
If you were, you could use Admin, Members, and limit to owners / moderators.

However, the best was, as mentioned, is email the official Group Owners email address on the group homepage.

Some groups do, some don't.? Others have the information in another area, such as the Guidelines, so that it's not posted publicly.? It's an individual decision by the group owner(s), based on the needs of the group.
