Re: Slanderous posting

The group is actually called TheColonyCommunity4U. Took me a while to find it with the spaces!

Do you know what the “Colony” is?

The site is called. The Colony Community 4 U. A platform with members who post. Not a paid for site. Free account. This site has gotten out of control with bashing and trashing and bullying the residents who live in the community with emphasis on me mostly.

I understand the roadblock I have about anything that can be done. I find it a shame that she uses io.groups as her platform. I also own an io.groups Premium site that follows the io.groups Terms of Service and is well managed by my team, and we don't allow bullying or hateful remarks about the residents who live in our community.

Thanks all for you kindness and info.

It is what it is.

In which case it’s a design error to allow such a name to be used in the first place!

Problem Solved!!

It was because the Title was too long!!!!
The title line on our databases include the name and address of a member who is running a collection (we are a charity group) and her address was quite long. In desperation, as I had tried everything else, I trimmed it down and once that was done I was able to download the file.

Sorry for taking up your time. I very much appreciate the ability to ask fellow group leaders for help.

In this case it was the group owner slandering someone from another group.?

Re: Slanderous posting

Yes. The owner of the group continuously calls me a liar and posts negative comments about me. Been going on for a very long time.??

Thank you.

Brenda

Cal-reminder emails not sent to all members #cal-reminder

We’ve been running our Premium group for about six years with few mishaps. Today a reminder showed up in our messages that was not delivered to all members including those who have not muted that topic.?

? I tried editing the event and resending, but again only some members received that message ?

Any help is appreciated.?

Re: Slanderous posting

Hello!
?
OK, forgive me however, I'm a tad confused ..... Are you commenting about their actual - non - site, for which is used as their "email connection", like a mailing list "service"?? Or are you stating, specifically, how the person from the website is mismanaging the email group?? If it's about their actual site, I would think some kind of "contact us" or "list of administrators" (or whatever) might be found there, with ways to contact if an issue arises.? Out of?curiosity, I tried to do a google search for anything with the name/title you provided, I found a few things, including a YT channel for the person you mentioned .... maybe start at one of those to see about who/how to contact in cases of violations and abuse?

If you are talking about their "group" (aka "mailing list") is being run, then yes, I'd be looking at the contact info for -- most likely it will go to Mark, I am guessing?
?
If you are meaning something completely different than this .... my apologies.? ?Whatever/Whichever it is, I hope you are able to get it sorted out.

Re: Slanderous posting

Just to confirm...are you saying that the group owner said disparaging things about you?

I'd suggest putting that information in the Description (or maybe Short Description?) box instead of the name/title area.

Thanks Frances,

I've had a message from Mark saying he is pushing through a 'fix'

Thanks for you helpful suggestions,

ABSOLUTELY report the owner and the group to [email protected] immediately. I assume you have screenshots of this behavior. You should provide them.

Actually, you would have been libeled, not slandered.? Written is libel, oral is slander.

And the thot plickens (plot thickens). With the new information – that you allege “This site breaks many of the "Terms of Service" conditions.” - then the ?problem potentially rises to Mark’s level. If the ‘whole story is known,’ the entire problem can take on a completely new texture.

?

Documentation…is the essential item in anything like this. It looks to me like you need to be more detailed with this allegation and problem description and you need to report it via another means. This Forum is ont the place to attempt ‘policing action’ on account violations.

this io.groups site should really be looked into. This site breaks many of the "Terms of Service" conditions.

Per the TOS page (/static/tos) you can report a group for the specific TOS violations.

It was the group owner who did the posting. And not the first time.

And while at it, there's nothing stopping you from also including the additional info about the slanderous posting in that email you'll be sending.

Cheers,
Christos

Re: Slanderous posting

Edited

To be honest, this site is so nasty that I wish not to be affiliated. I did try a while back, but I wasn't approved. It is fine. Hopefully someone will investigate this site. It takes pride in the freedom of speech to the point they use it a weapon to destroy people. Oh well. The site is called: The Colony Community 4 U, owner is Pam. This site is a mess.?

Thank you all. I shall move on.

Re: Slanderous posting

Oh. That’’s horrible. That makes all the difference. You could’ve mentioned that in the OP.

I can only suggest you complain to Mark. Does anyone know how we do that?
