It's important to understand these are an account status, not a subscription status. Accounts that are Bouncing or Not Confirmed aren't being sent any group emails and thus can't affect groups.io's

I received an autoreply from one RI member. I sent them a message through Admin, Members, Send Message (bottom of the record). The member was bouncing and RI. The message was about a change of email

If you may ever delete all subgroups, then I wouldn't do that.? If you intend to always have at least one subgroup, even as a placeholder, it's not a bad idea for them to update, but not mandatory.
