Here's one solution to this, you don't have to do this online in the Files section yet.? If you haven't already, just create a folder in your computer and name it as you want it to appear in Files, and place your 30 files in it.? On reveal day, go to Files, select New/Upload -> Upload Folder and choose the folder you created in your computer.? It will create that folder in Files and then will upload the 30 files to it in one operation.? When it's done, send the reveal notification message, or alternatively, select the Notify members option when you upload the folder and groups.io will notify the members.

Also when the upload is done, edit that uploaded folder and select the upload privileges to only you and the mods, as I assume you want that since you said "private" folder.

I do understand that this doesn't feel like a very satisfactory answer. At the same time, you signed up with icloud on the premise that they would deliver messages to you. If you ask groups.io to send them, and icloud doesn't deliver them, then it seems pretty clear which entity is failing to live up to expectations.

I can't speak for others, but I really don't receive a lot of false negatives, when it comes to spam filtering. I do, however, find a lot of false positives in my Spam folder. It seems that a lot of providers are overcorrecting in their zeal to "protect me from spam." The problem doesn't arise when the messages are diverted to a designated folder. The problem arises when they are bounced, or deleted, or otherwise diverted without you ever knowing what happened.

The fact is that some providers are just not very friendly to email lists. Groups.io sends a lot of messages, and is going to continue to do that. If the folks at icloud simply cannot adapt, then abandoning them may be the only course of action available. It's not fair or right, it's just reality.

The "Bouncing" list that I'm looking at includes reasons such as suspected unsolicited mail (spam), and potential security issue in the email.? That doesn't tell me which direction of email flow was involved, but I could envision Groups.io rejecting incoming emails for those reasons.? Yet that is only my uneducated suspicion, or wonder.

To my knowledge, such messages not logged anywhere. In short, nothing appearing on this page has anything to do with messages you've sent.

None of the things listed under "Bounces" were the "Most Recent Unsuccessful Attempt", and that is part of what leads me to wonder if the two categories ("Unsuccessful Attempt" and "Bounces") are for emails going in opposite directions.? Why would a non-delivery not be counted as a Bounce?? (I know, I know, surely there is more to it, right?? Since I don't know the reasons, I am left to wonder if the two listings are for incoming vs. outgoing emails.)

As the [other] Andy said, these six bounces could have occurred within any group you're subscribed to. So even if your subscription is set to "No Email" in this group (and thus shouldn't have been sent anything that might bounce), they could have happened elsewhere:? some other group, an email notification that your provider didn't deliver, someone trying to PM you, etc...

No, these listed Bounces are group-specific.? They only list events that happened in THAT one group.? If something happened in another group, it is not shown there.? It's easy to prove.

If you view your email delivery history, the error messages shown in the Unsuccessful and Bounces sections are what Groups.io received when it tried to send a message to you.

If you try to send a message by email to Groups.io and it is rejected for some reason, you can expect a NDR (non-delivery report) back to your email account and the reason for rejection will be given in that. You should also find an entry on the activity log to say why the message was rejected.

Bounces are reports of issues sending messages to you, not you sending messages to a group.? Bounces are also account level issues so if Groups.io has issues sending messages to you from one group and puts your account into 'bouncing' status, it affects all groups you are in.

This has me confused.? Each group to which I am subscribed has its own list of "Bounces" and there is nothing in common between them.? Therefore, they are not listed at the account level, they are listed at the group level.? If I check another group, it shows nothing in the "Bounces" category, but it's the same account.? And it has a message listed under "Most Recent Unsuccessful Attempt".? Apparently that unsuccessful attempt does not count as a "Bounce"...?

I understand how bounced delivery attempts are also tracked at the account level and that can result in one's account going into Bouncing status, but that's not the issue here.

You say you are a read-only member. Is your subscription No-Mail?

No.? I am READ-only, therefore I need to receive the emails so that I can read them.? I am subscribed to receive all emails from that group.? I just don't reply to any of them, therefore I have not sent any messages to that group, not by my own fingertips.

You need to go to the Settings page for the group, then down to the Features panel.? There you'll find the options for Files.? I don't think you can control visibility for individual Folders.

Hidden Folder?

I want to make an unviewable folder.?According to the HELP for Members Manual:?
  • Group owners determine whether the Files feature is available in their groups and, if it is, who can view and upload files: all members or only owners and moderators.
I want to upload about 30 files to a private/hidden folder until I'm ready to switch it so everyone in the group can view it on "reveal day." When I try to do this my choices are:
  • Any group member can add files to this folder
  • Only you and the moderators can add files to this folder
There's nothing about being able to view or not view it. When I choose the 2nd option, my alternate regular user ID still sees the folder and files. How can I make it unviewable??

We are a Premium group.

Unsuccessful means that the message couldn't be delivered to you, usually referring to a hard bounce (5xx code) such as an inaccessible email account.? A bounce (4xx code) means that Groups.io tried several times to send the message, but wasn't able to get it through for whatever reason.

Not sure why changing emailer is not a solution, one of my subscribers had the same problem and they changed emailer, no more problem

I would say the problem is entirely of iclouds making

This is a problem that has been affecting me for several days. I have let Apple know and they just said to let them know if it keeps occurring. Well it did, so I did.

It's clearly all to do with all the security and authentication mechanisms currently required for email processing, sadly due to the huge number of feckless scumbags who are members of our species.

This problem is between Apple and Groups.io and between them they need to fix it and prevent it from re-occurring.
