If I want to transfer my group do I have to reduce the size of the photos or reduce the number of photos or will the transfer process reduce the size of? the photos so I am under the 1 GB limit?Photo attachments (and attachments to emails in general) will not be transferred, so you don't need to worry about them. As for photos in albums, if there is a maximum photo size established in the group settings here at GIO (See Admin->Settings->Features->Photos->Max Size in Photos Section), they will be rescaled during the transfer. I suggest a limit of 1024px in the longest dimension as being more than adequate for viewing online. I'm also told that if during the transfer you do go over 1 GB the transfer agent will stop at that point and ask what you want to do. I personally think it's best to make every attempt to gauge things ahead of time so as to avoid putting your transfer in limbo. If you're right on the cusp, paying $10 ahead of time for a month of Premium access might be money well spent for the additional peace of mind. Hope this helps, Bruce |

Trnasferring Photos From Yahoo
#transfer
I have a yahoo group that is currently using 1GB of photo space and about 93 MB of file space.? I know groups.io has a combined limit of 1 GB.
If I want to transfer my group do I have to reduce the size of the photos or reduce the number of photos or will the transfer process reduce the size of? the photos so I am under the 1 GB limit? TIA Bruce Wilson Barrie, ON |

Question about Hashtag font color
#hashtags
Yvette Money
We have had a request in our group to change the font color on the hashtags to black as they are having difficulty seeing the white font.? I looked in the hashtag section but couldn't seem to find a place where I could change the font color, only the color of the hashtag itself.? Is there a way to change the font color?

I use the hashtag all the time. Problem is I do not have that option. Sorry!

I forgot to mention that locking the thread doesn't close voting in the poll, so you need to manually close it via the Edit function.

have you set up a Poll hashtag? ?FYI, the hashtag is created, if it doesn't already exist, when the first poll is started.? It's a good idea to see what the settings are though. The only problem with using the hashtag is that it can lock the thread, but doesn't send the results. I would like to be able to set a poll to close automatically on a given dateThat bit is straightforward. Firstly, have you set up a Poll hashtag? I suspect that you have not . If you set one up then setting the poll duration is part of the creation of the hashtag; you gt the choice of "Forever", or I hour, I day, I week, 1 month or 1 year. I suspect that if you rely on some sort of "poll default setting" that it is 1 month, but I could of course be mistaken. Chris |

Thanks Duane! I can't wait for that feature. One of my groups has weekly polling and would be nice to have them automtically close at a date and time of my choosing and send out the results to the members.

Re: Group starting date
No one on this group is officially connected with Groups.io in any way.? We're all just users like you are.? Site management also doesn't monitor this group, as far as we know.? You could try sending an email to [email protected], but it may take some time for a reply since Mark is on vacation.
Have you received the transfer summary email?? If not, there may still be things in process. Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |

Re: Question
Are we to take it that you have a "Basic" Group? If so then you have 1GB of storage to share netween Files, Photos and Attachments. Atttachments go into the "Photos" section AFAIK (we have them disabled anyway) so you should find them there. Both the Files and Photos sections show you how much space you have used up.
If by "emails" you mean "Messages" then they do not count towards your storage limit. Chris |

Re: Question

Hi Rosalee! For free groups, you are allowed 1 gb of storage. I have an Incredimail group. I have learned that the best thing to do to prevent buildup of space on the server is to go into your admin to settings and disable photos because everything because everything with graphics attached has the graphics automatically dumped into a folder in photos. Also in the admin, there is place under Message Formatting in the admin that you can set to "delete old attachments". Those two settings will help.
