Calendar - subgroup ICS link does not work #calendar #subgroups

We cannot sync my subgroup's calendar to external software via the iCalendar link. We can sync to the main group to devices such as iPhone, Mac calendar and Andriod's calendar. This requires no login credentials, just the link. When I try to sync to the subgroup's ICS link on iPhone or Mac, it fails (have not tried the subgroup with Google/Andriod).? If it matters, both groups have restricted membership, but the subgroup is not visible to the parent group.

Is there a way to make this work? I tried entering my username and password but that fails as well.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Reply to option issue

Thanks Duane
I looked at this so many times and I didn't see that option
This will make a big difference for my group

There is another option
sender and group

Does this give you a choice to pick only the sender or the group
Or does it just return to the sender and the group (which would not make any sense - since the sender is already part of the group)

Al

Re: Reply to option issue

Thank you
I will try this
It may not be easy to relate this to all the members
They actually need to see the choice on the display

Change email address error - that email address is already registered

I had an issue completing a new subscriber because the password would not work
I removed the member

I re-invited the member with a different email address
Member is now subscribed and able to login

Now I want to change the email address and I get the message
That email address is already registered

The email address is not listed in the group
I expect the address is still there but inactive
How can I clear the email address that so I can now update the new member back to their original email address

Thanks

Dan,
All groups have a number. That remains constant. You can change the name, but I believe only once.

That name does not appear to be the name of a Facebook Page is the
message I receive when trying a add. Not sure why our group has a number
vs. a name.

If I have this right - and there's guarantee of that - add a #hashtag set to Reply to Sender and nothing will be sent to the group. Haven't tested it yet, but that's what I read in the HELP files.,

My understanding is that it does work, but only with Facebook groups that are public. A Facebook group that is private requires authentication for access, and Groups.io hasn't worked out how to do that.

Speaking to messages to owner, how many had a number of Subscriber has left messages the first day.

Wonder if there's an online guide to using the groups? It's probably

In addition to the official Help page that J mentioned, have a look at GMF's Wiki:
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/home

The Wiki is intended as a supplement to the help pages, rather than a replacement, but in some cases it also fills in details that perhaps should eventually get into the help pages.

Feel free to copy and modify the Wiki content for your own group's needs, and feel especially free to contribute content to the GMF wiki. If you've written instructions or tutorials for your own group please consider adapting them to the broader audience here.

And yes, feel free to post messages in GMF with comments, suggestions and (hopefully constructive) criticism about the GMF Wiki contents. As is always the case with a volunteer effort, some pages are bound to lag behind the evolving reality of Groups.io, and others may not be clear or comprehensive enough - so everyone's help in proofreading is welcome.

Re: Reply to option issue

It sounds like you want most replies online to go to the sender and not the group.? If so, you should go to Admin > Settings and scroll down to the Message Policies section.? Under Reply To, set it for Sender instead of Group.

When replying online, just below the composition box, right side, there's a button to toggle the action taken.? If you've set the default to Group (which is probably where yours is now, It will say Private.? Once you click on that, the button on the left will be blue and say Reply to Sender instead of green and Reply to Group.

If it still continues, you can try to contact the person outside the system (via your own email) in case emails are going into the person's spam folder, and ask them to locate the confirmation email and click on on the link. If they STILL can't find it (and this has happened a number of times in my own group), and you know you want to admit the person to your group, you can email Mark and ask him to let them in.

Until the person is confirmed, even though they look like a member of your group they will not be able to post messages to the group or access any group content. They're essentially on hold.

What does NC ("not confirmed") next to their email address mean? (was: question)

Hello,?
Someone has requested to join our group and there is an NC next to their email address. It says "not confirmed". What does this mean? Other people who have requested to join have not had the NC next to their email address, so I didn't know what this refers to.?

Thank you,
Erienne
