Calendar - subgroup ICS link does not work
#calendar
#subgroups
We cannot sync my subgroup's calendar to external software via the iCalendar link. We can sync to the main group to devices such as iPhone, Mac calendar and Andriod's calendar. This requires no login credentials, just the link. When I try to sync to the subgroup's ICS link on iPhone or Mac, it fails (have not tried the subgroup with Google/Andriod).? If it matters, both groups have restricted membership, but the subgroup is not visible to the parent group.
Is there a way to make this work? I tried entering my username and password but that fails as well. Thanks for any help. |
Re: Reply to option issue
Thanks Duane
I looked at this so many times and I didn't see that option This will make a big difference for my group There is another option sender and group Does this give you a choice to pick only the sender or the group Or does it just return to the sender and the group (which would not make any sense - since the sender is already part of the group) Al |
Change email address error - that email address is already registered
I had an issue completing a new subscriber because the password would not work I removed the member I re-invited the member with a different email address Member is now subscribed and able to login Now I want to change the email address and I get the message That email address is already registered The email address is not listed in the group I expect the address is still there but inactive How can I clear the email address that so I can now update the new member back to their original email address Thanks Al Rosen |

All groups have a number. That remains constant. You can change the name, but I believe only once. Dave -----Original Message----- |

Our California South Coast On30 Module club group on Facebook is a public group. That name does not appear to be the name of a Facebook Page is the message I receive when trying a add. Not sure why our group has a number vs. a name. Dain On 1/5/2018 7:04 PM, Shal Farley wrote:

Speaking to messages to owner, how many had a number of Subscriber has left messages the first day.

Re: Messages to Owner
Norman,
Wonder if there's an online guide to using the groups? It's probablyIn addition to the official Help page that J mentioned, have a look at GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/home The Wiki is intended as a supplement to the help pages, rather than a replacement, but in some cases it also fills in details that perhaps should eventually get into the help pages. Feel free to copy and modify the Wiki content for your own group's needs, and feel especially free to contribute content to the GMF wiki. If you've written instructions or tutorials for your own group please consider adapting them to the broader audience here. And yes, feel free to post messages in GMF with comments, suggestions and (hopefully constructive) criticism about the GMF Wiki contents. As is always the case with a volunteer effort, some pages are bound to lag behind the evolving reality of Groups.io, and others may not be clear or comprehensive enough - so everyone's help in proofreading is welcome. BTW if you have a premium or enterprise group and it is restricted, meaning that you have to approve memberships, then approving someone's membership will automatically confirm them on the assumption that you know the person.?

Re: Reply to option issue
It sounds like you want most replies online to go to the sender and not the group.? If so, you should go to Admin > Settings and scroll down to the Message Policies section.? Under Reply To, set it for Sender instead of Group.
When replying online, just below the composition box, right side, there's a button to toggle the action taken.? If you've set the default to Group (which is probably where yours is now, It will say Private.? Once you click on that, the button on the left will be blue and say Reply to Sender instead of green and Reply to Group. Duane |

Re: What does NC ("not confirmed") next to their email address mean? (was: question)
J_Catlady
When someone requests membership in a group, and is not yet in any other groups.io groups (i.e., they are not yet a member of groups.io), groups.io sends an email asking them to "confirm" that they requested membership. This is to prevent someone from signing up someone else (like, if I ordered 10 pizzas sent to your house:). The person needs to click on the "confirm membership" link within the email to confirm that they, indeed, requested the membership. Sometimes they don't, or the email goes into spam, or who knows what. If you continue to see the "NC," you can click on the option to "resend confirmation email" and hope they get the resent email. If it still continues, you can try to contact the person outside the system (via your own email) in case groups.io emails are going into the person's spam folder, and ask them to locate the confirmation email and click on on the link. If they STILL can't find it (and this has happened a number of times in my own group), and you know you want to admit the person to your group, you can email Mark and ask him to let them in.
Until the person is confirmed, even though they look like a member of your group they will not be able to post messages to the group or access any group content. They're essentially on hold. -- J |
Reply to option issue
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý? I have a new group The only item I have to configure to mimic the way my Yahoo Group was working Is the Reply to ? Apparently everyone who is selecting the reply to online in the messages is replying to the entire group There is no selection to reply to sender ¨C see attachment Reply to options This is requiring a lot of additional moderation to screen these reply¡¯s so that everyone in the group ?????does not have to receive extra emails that they do not need to see ? ? These are the options in the email that is sent to the member email address This has the additional option to reply to sender ? Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group. | Reply To Group | Reply To Sender | Mute This Topic | ? Any suggestions or answers will be appreciated ? ? ? What does NC ("not confirmed") next to their email address mean? (was: question)
Hello,? Someone has requested to join our group and there is an NC next to their email address. It says "not confirmed". What does this mean? Other people who have requested to join have not had the NC next to their email address, so I didn't know what this refers to.? Thank you, Erienne |
