Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
Somehow the message before my last one did not make it through. You can click on the three dots in my prior message to see that my point is that the normalize-HTML setting has nothing to do with this

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
Shal and John, I don't think "normalize HTML" would have anything to do with this. I'm no email guru, but I think the purple color comes from the email server seeking to distinguish quoted text from

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
" as I said, if the group's strip-HTML setting is set, then my gmail does not distinguish the quoted text in purple. I've surmised that's because groups.io"processes out" the '>' signs, leaving gmail

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
Thanks Shal for your comments. FWIW, I don't have the Normalize HTML Emails box checked. I've asked the member to identify which messages are causing him problems so we'll see what that reveals. John

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
Shal, here's what I've noticed since my last post. Suppose I use block-quote on the web to indent text consisting of the part of a message I want to respond to. There are two cases: 1. The group has

Thanks for that. ?Not sure my members will take to that. ?We have an older crowd, actually quite a few in the 80s and many don't "do" the internet. -- Bob Bellizzi The Corneal Dystrophy Foundation

Re: Reply to Group in Digest Does Not add Reply to Topic
Yes and no. I know it happens to some people that use Gmail. There are probably other clients that will do the same thing. It seems that Gmail replies to the digest heading information within itself,

Reply to Group in Digest Does Not add Reply to Topic
I recently told one of our members that she apparently wasn't "chaining" her replies to the original message in a topic and coached her to use the Reply to Group at the end of a message in her Digest.

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
J, In the Gmail app in my phone, quoted material is changed to a purple color rather than black. Visually I find it distinct enough. This applies to both both plain text > marked quotes and HTML

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
John, The site attempts to detect bottom-quoted or top-quoted material and hide it beneath an elipses (...) button. See the example of J's reply to you, where her quote of your message is hidden.

Re: Quoted text in Replies - Is it possible to alter appearance
I agree that block-quoted text using the web editor is not convincingly distinguished in the email version of posts read on mobile devices. This has been a nuisance, since it looks too much like text

We have a small private group (approx. 70 members) which I transferred from Yahoo just over 12 months ago. We are an active group and have posted almost 15,000 messages in that time. Some members use

Re: Listing ot Topics covered by Daily Digests

Hi One answer: ? Who has permissions to create, add, edit wiki pages? In Settings, you can decide who has access and can edit. The Group Managers¡¯ Forum wiki is set so you can edit, as you saw.
