If we had the ability to send a group email to all unsubbed list
members and use our private email address, versus the group email
address ... That way, again, the message would have a much better
chance of landing in their Inbox folder.
Maybe. Groups.io could forge your address into the From field, but the receiving service can detect that the message did not in fact originate with your email provider. That can make such a message much less likely to be delivered than one that actually did originate at your service, and possibly less likely than one from Groups.io that has Groups.io in the From address.
(Yahoo Groups gave mods that option, to send via the group email
address, or your personal email address).
Groups.io does too. I don't have a Premium group to test with, but one could probably generate the message you're after to those in the "prior" members list (whatever it is called). Except for the resume link - that would be a new feature.
