Hi Tim, This has been kicked around on here many times. This is a problem with the member's email service. All members of Groups.io need to check their Spam Folders before they are emptied and any messages from Groups.io must be moved to the inbox or other folder. You are the first that I know of to have a gmail account removed for this reason. Yahoo is terrible for this. OTOH, I don't understand why anyone would empty their Spam Folders without checking them. I always find legitimate messages in my Yahoo Spam. Like most things Yahoo, this is a less than well programmed system. The following is the message I send to my members who are removed and please note that I have a premium group so I can add members, you may have to invite them back: ================================================================= Hi, Your membership in [email protected] was deleted because you deleted a message from Groups.io as Spam. Please note that putting the message(s) in the Spam Folder may have been done by your email service provider, not by you. There are a few providers who seem to be more prone to putting Groups.io messages in spam. You should have an email from MonGenes with instructions on how to rejoin with no approval required. This email is good for 3 days. If you have deleted this email or can¡¯t find it (Check your Spam folder) or the 3 days have expired, I will add you back to the group. If you do not wish to continue as a member of the group, please respond to this message and ask that I not add you back. To Prevent this from happening again, Do Not empty your Spam Folder without checking to see if there are emails from MonGenes. If you delete a MonGenes Email as Spam, your membership in MonGenes Groups IO will be terminated. This is due to some Email Provider policies that require this action. If this happens, Please Move any MonGenes emails from the Spam folder to your Inbox before deleting. For detailed information on this subject: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Removed-for-spam Please feel free to contact me concerning this, Paul Berndt, Co-Owner of MonGenes ================================================================

In the past few days our group has been getting messages like the following from groups.io: "This is to notify you that <users email> has been unsubscribed from your group [email protected] because a message to them was marked as spam. Note that this may have been done by their email service provider, not by the individual member personally." It has happened with yahoo, ameritech, and gmail addresses. Any ideas what's going on? |
