I never look at or reply to any ntices before I join a group. I just throw them in the trash, so yeah for ?at least the member it's aeditional work as I like I said never look. ?I just assume I'm in and that's ? it.

Setting up a Pending Subscription member notice takes no more than a few minutes, and reading the response to it (assuming one actually turns up!) probably takes no more than a few seconds before deciding whether or not to admit any given applicant.
The group I moderate does this, and if there is a perceived need to do it (or something else akin to it) then a little bit of additional work is unavoidable. If owners or moderators find this little extra work intolerable then perhaps they shouldn't be owners or moderators...
