I?noticed that when I posted some photos via email to test navigation and size, the name of the user in the "by" field is not mine, although I was the one who sent them, looks like it took the name of the first member to open them.
Is this is a bug?

Every emailed photo, whether attached to the message or embedded, lands in the -- appropriately enough -- "Emailed Photos" folder. These same images on the groups.io server are then linked to the corresponding message as viewed using the browser interface.

What I've found is that some subscribers will reply to a message without first stripping the included image...it thus lands in the folder two (or more) times. In each case, the image is associated with the subscriber who sent the corresponding message. I hope that made sense. Please check to see if that's what's happening in your group.

Whether this behavior is actually a bug is subject to debate. I'm not very fond of it either, but don't have a good proposal for how to resolve it.
