I like the idea of transfer agent joining even before he has received the invite but he can not do that (because he has no idea of the name of the Y!Group).

He knows from the form you (should have) filled out to start the transfer.

Go to the Easy Yahoo Group Transfer page. You can get there from the Easy Group Transfer link at the bottom of any Groups.io page, then click the Yahoo Group Instructions button.

Read and follow the instructions. In particular, in Step 1 you click the green Start New Transfer button at the bottom of the page. That button will take you to the form where you specify which Y!Group is to be copied into which Groups.io Group, and what parts of the Y!Group to copy.

GMF's Wiki page Transferring from a Yahoo Group is incomplete, but offers additional tips and ideas.

You are, but it is not necessary. When deciding what to post keep in mind that GMF's messages are public, so anything you post here can be found by anyone on the internet and will be indexed by web search engines.
