¿ªÔÆÌåÓýShal, the reason that I don¡¯t want ALL old attachments deleted is that mine
is a Photoshop group and several times a week I send in a tutorial with a
sample. I want to keep those samples associated with the emails for when a new
member may want to search the archives for a particular technique.
When the members do that tutorial, they send in their own sample. We don¡¯t
need those samples after a certain time, but we do need the original sample with
its email.
So I need to do ¡°selective¡± deleting. One thing that is making it difficult
is that sometimes members will reply and include the original message and sample
in their reply.
I have checked out the link you provided and none of the suggestions
exactly fit what I need... the idea of consolidate (1b) has merit, but how to I
make sure that the original sample is the one retained... at the moment I am
having to click on a photo, see who sent it, then do the appropriate action...
delete or keep... tedious, but accurate... it looks like that is the only way at
the moment.
I¡¯m working on an explanation and instructions for my group, hopefully when
they read them they will take it to heart.
Thanks for your reply though.

Other than cluttering up the Emailed Photos album, is there a reason to
bother deleting them?
An alternative is in the Message Formatting section of your group's
settings: Delete Old Attachments when out of space, and then just let the
site deal with them:
For what it is worth, some ideas to make it easier to delete or consolidate
these repeat photos have been discussed in beta.
