Stan,
1. It asks for the name of the group. I have subgroups. Assume the main group is called Wine and has subgroups. It would be listed in the drop down list when click on the field to enter the group name. I assume Support/Transfer will know Wine is the main group and that its email address is [email protected] and not [email protected]. Correct? That drop-list is a lot more poorly formatted than I remember. I thought the subgroups were indented or otherwise clearly identified as subgroups of the preceding primary group name. That could use some improvement. ? 2. I created subgroups but there is nothing from Yahoo that needs to be transferred to the subgroups. They are listed in the drop down list when I click on the field to enter the group name. I assume I just ignore the subgroups and just enter the main group, like I would do above. Is that correct? Correct. ? 3. I see there is now an option to not have the welcome message automatically sent to the members when the transfer is complete. If I understand this correctly, if uncheck this option, it will not send the automated message that gives a member the option to immediately unsubscribe Correct. ? and it will not send the welcome message that I created. That will still be sent, if Active. It used to be that it must also have been customized, but I don't think that matters now that there is an option to have no Welcome notice active. ? 4. The first sentence of step 4 says: "Come back here, select your transfer, and tell us that you are ready for the transfer to happen." On the transfer form there's an "In Process" drop-list over to the right of the green Start New Transfer button. Use the droplist to select the group in question. That will bring up an additional form for you to give the "Go" when you are ready. If I understand the new procedure, all I do is Step 0 - ? create the group (which has been done), Step 1 - Click the Start Group Transfer Process button (this associates
the Yahoo Group name with the target Groups.io group name, and with
your email address
(logged in
account) for notification at completion. Step 2 - Invited the [email protected] address to your Yahoo Group.
Step 3 - ? make [email protected] a moderator with all moderator privileges unchecked (which I will do), Step 4 - ? and then just submit the new form. You've already submitted the start transfer form (step 1), now you're using the In Progress form. ? I no longer send an email message to Support or [email protected] that the Yahoo group is ready to be transferred. Correct.
