Since you use gmail, which is part of Google, perhaps the "leak" is there? Just a thought.

I load all the trainings for my group the month before they happen onto the calendar and set a 2 day Reminder. This has worked just fine for months. Today a some (but not all) of the events appeared that I had just inputted went out to the members of my group - weeks ahead of time. The odd thing was that they weren¡¯t sent by Groups.io (as far as I could see) but by Google wanting to know if we wanted to put these on the Google calendar.
Can Google Hijack Group.io like that?
