What's the deal with having to sign up again every 30 days?
You sign up only once (per email address). The Sign Up link is one way to create an account (and optionally set a password) so that you can log into the site.

Having signed up you can log in. Your login session lasts 30 days, or until you log out or you delete your browser cookies.

Can only receive email, but can't get to files and photos?
Files, Photos and most areas of a group are for group members only. You must be signed in to Groups.io to identify yourself as a member of the group.
