I am the Administrator for our?groups.io?site and have noticed that sometimes (but not every time) when a sender includes a photo in a message, that same photo also appears in the footer section of our email deliveries.
Greg -- There are at least four different ways to attach/embed an image in an html email. See??for an overview.?I believe what you are referencing can occur when a photo is embedded as a CID image. In such cases, some mail clients may encounter the image data in a separate MIME part further down the message and render it a second time.?
Are you actually using the same?
mail software?on your respective iPads? Even if you are, there may be a configuration setting to turn this on and off...not a
group setting, but a setting in your mail client.
It seems unlikely that there are actually two copies of the same image in the message, but it's not impossible, either. You could confirm that using the View Source function, either in your mail client or here in the groups.io message archive.
I don't claim to be an expert on this. Although I've noticed this behavior occasionally, I've never really worried about it. Hopefully someone else has already investigated it and can provide more details.?
