Re: Member in subgroup only??

My approach is, in effect, to not use the main group, it is kept for "super-special" announcements (and, so far, never used). Member-to-member discussions take place in a subgroup (members@...) This means all members can be added to the main group as a purely administrative exercise even if they want no part of any email exchanges. It also means that a 'stroppy' member can be kept out of the discussion subgroup if that is needed (it has not been for me).

best, Malcolm.

For reasons like this, anyone adding subgroups should plan ahead what kind of content they want in the main group and what in the subgroups. Generally, the main group should be the one that is most open and general purpose and used by more of the members. Use subgroups for things that only a subset of your members should be involved with.

If not can we add her to the main group but not allow her to send or receive messages, but have full privileges in the subgroup.
Somewhat.? On the main group, you can set her membership to Override: not allowed to post.? However, you can't prevent her from reading the messages online or setting her subscription to receive messages via email.
