You can glean a lot of information from the activity log (/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/reviewing-the-group-s-activity-log), but there is no easy way to get summary statistics.

Such as knowing there were 50 visitors today.

Simply visiting the site is not a logged activity. You have to do something within the group to generate a log entry.
