Re: Is this information accurate

Thanks Shal,
I got a response from support who confirm that the information is inaccurate.
I have passed this on my associates.
Thanks for all your further information.

Dave,

However this ease of access for messages has a downside; if a
Groups.IO log ¨C in is not used for a period of time (what its duration
is not currently known) then the account will be suspended and the
associated email address and ID may be ¡°recycled¡±.
The part about recycling the address is clearly absurd -- Groups.io can't recycle email addresses which it doesn't own. And unlike Yahoo Groups, there is no "house brand" email address forced upon you when you create a Groups.io account.

Another tell-tale is "ID" - in Groups.io your login ID is your email address, not some other thing.

Then there's all this FUD about having to set up a new account. 1) If you got into this mess by not ever logging in, why do you all of a sudden need a new account? 2) Even if you need one, establishing an account at Groups.io is about as easy typing your email address into a web page, so what's the problem?

This overall has the feel of some of the other scare tactic "warnings" I've read lately over in Y!GMF, YGOG, and ListHelp.
