I may be wrong but I think a rework of your Home Page could easily make the search for a different way of signing up to your group unnecessary. I agree with Chris.? I also don't want to come across as criticizing, but in all honesty & reality, your group's home page is waay too busy with stuff that doesn't really belong there, group descriptions should be just that, short and sweet and to the point.? Everything in your group's description from the "Getting Started" and below should be moved to the group guidelines section, and at the most have a link to it in the description, that will drastically shorten the scrolling needed.? If that's not enough, trim dead space and trim/move/combine other stuff as well in the description, no need for multiple empty lines for example, and the group name & URL (at the bottom of the description) can be incorporated into another paragraph, yet more lines saved.? Finally, if that's still not enough, there is no reason to have all that dead space around the group cover graphic; you have a 543x147 actual graphic encased into a 900x300 white-space container, that's several lines of text, trim it (height-wise at the minimum) and that will shorten the scrolling more. I did that editing in my test group and you can see how it now looks in a 1920x1080 monitor, compared to the existing one, see attached, it's about 40% of the original; end result, the home page is a lot more streamlined and to the point, and the join button is now visible without scrolling. (on a typical desktop monitor anyway) Cheers, Christos |
