Sure, feedback from our tester group found the sign-up (Apply to become a member) a bit un user-friendly as it was a tiny button at the bottom you had to scroll too and not immediately obvious. The other option for users to sign up is using the immediate sign-up URL, which is easy to add an email, but doesn't include the key info that's on the Groups IO homepage
