Re: rumor control [Groups.io is not Yahoo Groups]

Barry,

<Any truth to the rumor that [our group] is going away at the end of
this year ?>
One of my classmates, in my high-school classmates group, posted a few weeks ago citing the Yahoo Groups shutdown and asking what we should do about our group. He apparently hadn't noticed, or forgot, that our group had transferred to Groups.io about three years prior.

I can't blame him. The transfer was seamless as far as an email-only member was concerned. One day he was receiving messages via our Yahoo Group, the next via our Groups.io group, with no action required on his part.

I sent out notices, of course, before and after the transfer, but I can easily imagine that those could go unnoticed or be forgotten.

Shal
