Chances are good you wouldn't need any password except the one (if any) to unlock her computer or device. If she didn't explicitly log out after her last use of Groups.io there's a good chance she's still logged in, even if that browser session was closed. But that log-in will only last 30 days from her last visit to Groups.io.
Even if she had logged off of GIO or turned off her computer, the account name and password are probably saved in her browser. This would allow access to the GIO account by anyone able to access her computer. Additionally, most modern browsers can display account names and passwords in plain text. If acceptable to her family, a telephone walk thru could accomplish the transfer with minimum disruption to their grieving process.
