Looks like I will have to invite the initial group of testers and then have them use the email subscription route. I don 't want them to have to go to the website - EVER.
June, whyever not? Our groups are not just lists. People can use them as forums, you can provide a calendar for their use, upload documents and images and more. Unsophisticated users manage to use Facebook, which is about a thousand times more complicated than Groups.io.
I agree that we *can* use the groups as lists, but even those who like email lists want to be able to mute topics sometimes, for instance. That requires visiting the homepage for the group or at least /messages.
