The invite could go either way.? Some folks won't mind, others will be outraged.? Would it be possible to post on those groups to ask folks to contact you if they'd like an invitation?? (Or give them the address to subscribe to the group?)? My concern would be how many would mark an unexpected invitation as spam, possibly causing other problems.

Legally, each post belongs to the person that made it.? However, GIO must have considered that when they did transfers.? Since only members could see a database, that should minimize privacy complaints.
