Isidro -- That's odd.

When I click on "Join this Group" in a subgroup, I get a red-box error saying "You cannot join this subgroup until you first join the parent group" (or something to that effect). But this is using an email address that already has an account on groups.io. I don't have a unaffiliated email address to test what happens when the email address is unknown to groups.io. This leads me to believe what you're experiencing may be an artifact of the email address confirmation process. Need to think that through a little more on my end.

Tangentially-Related Postscript:? I'm frankly surprised that GMF isn't seeing more complaints from people having difficulties with member management in subgroups. I really expected more Owners to create one group with a bunch of unrelated subgroups in order to get multiple Yahoo Groups transferred under one Premium Yearly payment (i.e.: to subvert the transfer pricing structure). Again, not saying that's your case, or Samuel's -- we talked you through all the caveats well before you did your transfers, and Samuel has been around here a long time. But if others fail to follow the subgroup guidance and subsequently experience issues along those lines I feel that's just .
