No, no content from the subscribe email goes to anyone.? If you want content from a pending member in order to approve their membership, or just to have on file, you need to create a Pending Member notice (see Settings --> Member Notices), which goes out automatically when someone requests membership in your group. You can use it to ask questions. If the pending member responds to the email, the response becomes a record in their "+owner messages" page.?
Two caveats: (1) you can only do this if your group is "restricted" (membership requires approval), and (2) in my group, the pending member notice goes into a black hole about 1 time in 5 or 10 (it's not even in their spam folder) and I have to contact the member via a personal email anyway.
